It was easily the worst dance of their lives.
Held at a friend's barn in Williamsburg, it was a swing dance meant for young adults to come together and have fun.
No one was dancing.
The food was all gone.
And the party was dying fast.
Over the course of the night, Brandon, trying to make the most of the night with his friends, noticed a girl by herself that was on the outskirts of the dance floor trying to make herself busy, moving around the room.
Luz Marie, convinced by her mom to come down to this dance, had came alone and was contemplating whether to cut her losses and leave the party.
The party ended early and Brandon seeing this as his only chance, went up to the girl to strike the conversation. Luz Marie, surprised by interaction, joined in the conversation.
Surprisingly, they both lived in the DC area, which was 3 hours away from the dance. After getting up the courage, Brandon asked for Marie's number and the worst dance of their lives became one of the best nights of their lives.
