One of us did not want a big wedding. The other of us said we're only going to get married once, and it's a great way to bring together people who have supported us and tell them how much we love them. So...here we are.

The very first weekend we met in October 2021, someone told Brandon to cut his hair and marry me. Less than two years later...Brandon proposed.

I was moving at my usual pace of a million miles an hour when Brandon and I met. While we were all supposed to go to the Florida-Georgia game, I stayed home to help someone in crisis, and didn't get to spend much time with the group. Even though we only spent fleeting moments together, Brandon saw something in me that made him want to stay in touch.

In May 2022, while in Asheville, I told my dear friend Judi Z that some guy named Brandon was, I think, maybe interested in me, but I wasn't sure. She told me to take a chance. On the way home from Asheville I stopped in Brunswick, GA to see Brandon. A few days later, we went on our first "date". It was nice not being hyper-scheduled. It was nicer talking to someone who felt like an old friend from our very first dinner together. I was so excited to have someone to go to trivia with. A few months later, after being incredibly oblivious, I finally realized Brandon was more seriously interested in me as more than a friend and exceptional trivia partner, and we started dating. Brandon quickly became dog dad and a favorite snuggle buddy of Le Champion, and he added Coco Nut to the family a few months later.

In August 2023, after Brandon had secretly gone to New Jersey to ask my dad for permission to marry me (he said yes!), Brandon and I were in an argument about work. Brandon was concerned I was working too much and that it was wearing me out. I told him I could handle it and that I could ensure work would always be there, but not him. That's when Brandon proposed - and he let me know for as long as we're here, we'll always be there for each other. I hope everyone has the chance to feel that protected and loved in their lives.

We are the opposite in every way besides that we share a hair brush, sarcasm, petulance, and a deep love for one another, and that, it turns out, is more than enough.
