Our Wedding

The two of us met in October of 2018 in the most millennial way possible...Instagram. Messages turned to phone calls and phone calls turned to Facetimes and after a LONG three weeks (lol), Maya bought a plane ticket to go see a guy she's never met before. What could have been an awkward seven days turned out to be an incredible week of getting to know each other and having a great time. From then, lots of video calls filled the the next month or so, before Maya returned in December 2018 to accompany Brandon to a wedding in Louisville, Kentucky. During that stay, we became "official." On the heels of that, we entered the grueling marathon of a cross-continental, long distance relationship. We Facetimed an innumerable amount of times, as well as traveling back and forth between Kamloops and Charlotte as often as possible, doing whatever we could to make the best out of a less than ideal dating situation. That is, until December of 2019, when Maya got into an internship program at Elevation Church, which led to her moving to Charlotte! Finally, after talking on the phone for hours and spending a maximum of two weeks together at a time, we were able to have a "normal" relationship. Well, until a global pandemic started. As the coronavirus pandemic began to really gain momentum, normal began to change for everyone. Including us. Brandon's original proposal plan involved a restaurant, but the day in March that he planned to get down on one knee, the Governor announced that all in-person seating at restraints had to close down! So, we called an audible, and got engaged outside of a coffee shop in NoDa. Now, it's summertime, and we've set a wedding date and are so excited for you to be a part of this incredible day. There are still details to be worked out, but we're confident that God is in the midst of all of them, and that they're working out for our good.
