Our Story

We went to high school together but didn’t really interact with each other until we both started working at the South Higgins Lake State Park Store together. During summer we were just coworkers who goofed off. The in the fall our mutual friend said we should date and we both disagreed with her. We then started talking and started to low key like each other. Brandon ended up accidentally friend zoning Hannah. It only took him a short to un-friend zone her and asked her to go to the movies that night. Hannah was waiting for him to ask her to be her girlfriend when sitting awkwardly in her car. A half hour later after dropping him off, Hannah got a text message telling her that he had a really good night and asked if she wanted to be his girlfriend. Hannah was a little confused why he didn’t do it person and then she said yes.

We would continue to date in high school going to dances, going to each other events, working together during the summer. When we went to college we were about two and half hours away from each other. FaceTime was our best friend and tried to see each other once a month in person. During Covid Brandon came to stay with Hannah for two weeks so she wasn’t at her apartment by herself. Well that two weeks turned into three years. We got our first place together our senior year of college in Allendale because Hannah had in person classes and Brandon was still completely hybrid and studying for Law school entrance exam.

Hannah graduated a semester early and was working at the nursing home while Brandon was finishing up his last semester. Brandon told Hannah to take the weekend off of work because he wanted to go to Traverse City and go wine tasting for weekend. Hannah kind of hoped he would propose because it was completely out of the blue and she had accidentally found some jewelry store business cards a few back. After a wine tasting all day we came back to a fully decorated hotel room. Hannah was looking at the sign that said will you marry me and she said yes. Brandon hadn’t even gotten on one knee yet and said she couldn’t say yes until he properly asked her.

After seven years together there have been many memories and we cannot wait to make more.
