Eleanor and Brandon met over the summer of 2013 in Redwood City. A mutual friend introduced them to each other, and they spent the summer getting to know each other amidst friends and fun adventures. Before returning to school at the end of summer (Brandon to Cal Poly and Eleanor to Biola), they decided to make it official, and Brandon asked Mr. Poltorak for permission to date his daughter. Brandon asked Eleanor to be his girlfriend in one of her favorite places in Redwood City. When the end of summer came, they went back to their respective universities excited to explore the wild ride of long distance and whatever it might hold.

Over the next year, Brandon spent a lot of time getting to know Eleanor's family over school breaks and Eleanor was able to get to know Brandon's parents too. Brandon made multiple trips to see Eleanor at Biola that year and they got to know one another through regular Skype dates and phone calls. The year ended with Brandon finishing his senior year of college in electrical engineering and Eleanor finishing her first year of nursing school.

The following year Eleanor was in the heart of her nursing program, and Brandon pursued a Master's degree in electrical engineering and then graduated college having accepted a job with Micron Technology in Boise, ID. Eleanor and Brandon had plans to go to Maui as a graduation trip, where they would spend 10 days together adventuring with Brandon's sister, Laura. Little did Eleanor know that the week before they left, Brandon was not only looking for apartments in Idaho, but was finding the perfect ring to ask Eleanor to marry him. Right before leaving for Maui, Brandon secretly once again asked permission from Mr. Poltorak, only this time it was to ask him for his daughter's hand in marriage.

On July 4th, 2015, on the Maui beach of Oneloa, Brandon got down on one knee and popped the question and Eleanor said "YES". After almost three years of long distance, they could not be more excited to start a life together and celebrate God's great gift of marriage with you all.
