Sara and Brandon first met on the campus of the University of West Georgia. Depending on who you ask, their “official” first meeting varies. According to Sara, it all started when Brandon invited her to a talent showcase outside The Oaks residence hall in November 2020. But Brandon didn’t realize she was the same person from their other encounters until much later! In February 2021, they crossed paths a few more times. At a Valentine’s grill-out, Brandon complimented Sara’s flare pants, telling her she made them look really good. The next day, at East Commons Dining Hall, he complimented her Birkenstocks, and a week later, it was her necklace that caught his attention. By the time they met again at a bonfire in late February, Brandon had finally found an excuse to talk to her more. After asking her to model for a few photos, they walked around campus and spent time talking at the community garden. Although Sara wouldn’t give him her number just yet, she did share her gamertag, leading to Brandon finally getting her number through a video game! They stayed friends for a while, but on August 16, 2021, around the start of the new semester, things became official. Their first date was at McIntosh Reserve, where they hiked, took adorable pictures, and spent the day enjoying each other’s company. Hiking and photography quickly became a big part of their relationship, giving them time to connect and dream about the future. Many of those dreams centered around their shared love for freedom, adventure, and exploring the world together.In March 2023, Brandon knew that Sara was the one he wanted to be with forever. On a trip to Tallulah State Park, surrounded by beautiful waterfalls and peaceful trails, it became clear to him that she was his forever person. From that moment, he started planning the proposal for the anniversary of that trip. By January 2024, the rings had arrived, and the plan was in motion. Under the guise of a couples’ photo shoot with their friends Rocky and Erica at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, Brandon made sure everything was set. It was a beautiful day of hiking and picture-taking, but the real moment came when Brandon got down on one knee. Time stood still, and after a few heart-pounding seconds, Sara said “yes!” To add a final surprise, as they walked back from the trails, Brandon suggested stopping for food, but instead, they arrived at a pavilion where both their families were waiting to celebrate. Decorations, BBQ, snacks, music, and games filled the day as they enjoyed the company of their loved ones. Now, Sara and Brandon are ready for their next adventure. Their dream is to buy a van and travel the country together, exploring new places, making memories, and living life on the road. It’s the perfect next chapter for two people who share a love for freedom, adventure, and each other.
