It all started with the luckiest first date at a cafe. When all other places were closed and in-person dating was thought to be impossible, we had our first date sitting across from each other at the top floor of a cafe(Vereda), all to ourselves to share stories and laugh for hours.

After that first date at the cafe, we talked every day from morning till night and eventually planned our second date. With everything still closed, we went for a romantic walk on Lakeshore. This walk would eventually lead to our first kiss and the location of our engagement.

Before meeting her parents, there was a very special person in Emma’s life that needed to do one final quality check. After a long walk, a few sniffs, and a lick on the face approval, Luna gave the paws up.

Emma’s family embraced Brandon with open arms, sharing their hospitality, culture and delicious Sri Lankan food. Emma met the beautiful Oliver family with many future in-laws and parents welcoming her into their homes. For Brandon, it felt like he was a second son. For Emma, a fifth daughter and an aunt to adorable nieces and nephews. This became the first step towards the two homes becoming one.

Since then we’ve begun travelling the world, to Maui, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, New York, Mexico, and New Orleans, with many more to come! We’ve experienced tons of great food, activities and created amazing memories with friends and family.

As boyfriend and girlfriend we had a ton of adventures but it felt like just the beginning. As we grew stronger together, we knew it was time to enter the next chapter of our story.

When you know it's your person, you know, and we both knew we found our person. The person that makes us laugh the most. Our first good morning and our last good night. Our sun and moon. Our partner for life. On May 11th, 2023 we made the decision to make it all official and kick off one of the biggest years of our lives.
