Our journey is one that you only hear or see about in books and movies; it’s not common. We met in 1996 at Chaparral when we took band class together while Melissa lived with her grandparents, Ron and Lewanna Hill. Evenings were our together time and we spent many of them walking around Anthony just getting to know each other. I would go to Irwin-Potter Drug Store just to have her make me a cherry limeade so I could spend as much time with her as she was a soda jerk. That year flew by and Melissa moved back to Dodge City, and we went our separate ways. Fast forward to the day when Facebook was new. We reconnected on Facebook and sent many messages back and forth, always checking on each other. One cloudy day in late December, Melissa was in Anthony and decided it was finally time to stop at Napa to see me in person for the first time in nearly 3 decades. I knew when I walked out of the office door what the missing link of my life was. Our first hug was a moment that I hope everyone experiences in their life. We share a special bond, a bond that cant be broken, a bond that was a gift from God. From concerts to fishing trips, traveling to Wichita or where the road leads us. Our prayer for any couple whether they are married or not is that you share a bond like ours. Put God first in your life, and your husband or wife second!! Allowing the Lord to be present in our daily lives has enriched our relationship in ways that are unexplainable. We look forward to seeing you on our wedding day, so that you can experience our love for each other.
