Breanna and Graham’s story begins back in 2010, when they first met as teenagers. Breanna was in 8th grade, Graham was a freshman in high school, and their families would become longtime friends. Dating wasn’t exactly in the cards back then, but Breanna definitely had a crush on Graham from day one.
Their relationship took a romantic turn years and years later, with not just one, but a few “first dates” that they still laugh about today. There was a trip to the NC State Fair where Breanna convinced Graham to ride the ferris wheel and they ate deep fried Oreos. They went to the Carolina Hurricanes season opener—where Graham showed up in a Columbus Blue Jackets jersey (don’t worry, he’s since become a full-time Caniac). And finally, Graham took Breanna out for a birthday dinner at the Angus Barn, where they shared delicious steak, a glass of red wine, and it was the start of something real.
The proposal was everything Breanna could’ve dreamed of—heartfelt, unforgettable, and perfectly them. When she suggested a Labor Day beach trip for the family, Graham saw the perfect opportunity. The weekend started with a classic mix-up: they were over two hours late leaving, and when Graham took a wrong turn into the airport, Breanna was not happy. That is, until he looked at her, placed a hand on her leg, and asked, “Bre, why do you think we might be at the airport?” That’s when it hit her—Graham had secretly flown in her best friend from out of state to join them at the beach.
The next day, during what was supposed to be “family photos,” Graham proposed at The Rocks at Fort Fisher, surrounded by the people they love most. He was so nervous he could barely get the words out—but Breanna heard them loud and clear. And of course, she said yes.
Today, Breanna and Graham continue the traditions that helped shape their love story. They never miss a Carolina Hurricanes season opener, always find something new to try at the State Fair, and revisit the Angus Barn at least once a year. Together, they love playing disc golf, riding bikes, and going on walks—just enjoying the everyday moments that have become their favorite kind of adventure. It started with a crush. It grew into a friendship. And now, it’s forever.
