Some of our favourite spots to take visitors:
· Ha Ling – ~3 hours, great workout and views looking into Canmore, there are even steps going most of the way to the top making this hike super accessible
· Grassi Lakes – pretty chill stroll with some decent views, very touristy and crowded though so beware!
· Tunnel Mountain – super accessible hike right downtown Banff but it can get busy!
· Lady MacDonald – great hike with beauty views, unless you’re comfortable on scramble I’d stop hiking at the heli landing
· Barrier Lake – nice views and decent hike for all, if its hot enough, jump in after!
· Cory/Edith Pass – great hike in the area if you’ve got a full day and are looking for a good workout
· Yamnuska – make sure you do the hike counter-clockwise, there is some exposure and it can be kind of sketchy, so I’d only recommend if you’re comfortable with heights and know what you’re doing!
· Sulphur mountain – good leg burner up to the top under the gondola and you can treat yourself to a beverage at the Sky Bistro patio afterwards!
· Lake Louise – there are many hikes that leave from Lake Louise, even the walk around the lake has stunning views
· Rent bikes and bike the legacy trail to/from Banff – about 30 km each way, would recommend staying for a drink somewhere in Canmore before making the return trip
· Golf – Silvertip, Stewart Creek, Banff Springs, or the Canmore Golf and Country Club
· Rent SUPs, canoes or kayaks, there are multiple places you can do this downtown Banff
· Rent mountain bikes and explore the trails at the Nordic Centre
