"The first time Collin and I met was at church, of course, but we think it's pretty funny that my mom introduced us. I wasn't sitting very still that Sunday and was running around after service, saying my hellos to friends and wondering around I guess. Meanwhile, my mom was introducing herself to someone she didn't recognize and called me over to help get Collin connected into the church. I didn't think much about this interaction at the time. Then as the months passed, I would occasionally say hello to him and would proceed to ask if he wanted to talk to my mother because I thought he just really wanted to be her friend or something, I had no idea he was interested in me. I am very oblivious. Eventually I got the hint when, one Sunday, Collin had asked to sit next to us (my parents and I) at church. At first, I thought he was just hoping to not sit alone and was looking for anyone he might recognize but, to my amazement, this was not the case. Throughout the service, I was able to pick up the signals that he was interested in me (surprising for me, I know) and that is how we finally connected. And the rest is history, or maybe just the beginning."
-Bre's Recollection
"Sometimes, love will find you when you are least expecting it. And yes, that is precisely what happened with me! After I fixed my day-to-day routine, and became comfortable at church, God told me it was time to find a small group to connect more with. Bre's mom, Vanessa, was really fast to help me when I asked for assistance in that endeavor. Needless to say I was connected with her daughter, who so happened to be a part of a wonderful life group that I fit in very well with, too! Bre and I had been texting back and forth fairly frequent, I just knew this felt different. Her smile and the happiness that trailed behind her everywhere she went, reeled me in like a fish on a hook. My stormy days have become so few and far between since meeting Bre, that its easy for me to forget they even exist. There was a key moment while we were dating that broke me with pure happiness, and it was in that (secret) moment I knew I will be asking her father, Steve, for her hand in marriage. At dinner when he said I may ask her to be mine, my heart raced and my brain lost its focus. Containing my excitement infront of her dad was not going to happen! On May 19th when it came time to propose at Raspberry Hot Springs, my nerves were turned up to the maximum. My heart slowed to a steady pace as I went down onto my knee, keeping composed by His grace. After displaying the ring, I asked her to marry me! She said yes and embraced me so tight, all nerves I had twisting inside before had disappeared so fast all that was left were tears. A day I will never forget, that marked the beginning of our journey!"
