Our Wedding

Four years ago, in 2021 on the very day of our upcoming wedding, we met for the first time; masks and all!&nbsp;A telephone conversation prior to this meeting left us both curious.&nbsp;Jim wondered how old this nice lady with the raspy voice might be, and Brenda looked forward to meeting the nice man who made the conversation fun.&nbsp;With much love, we thank Jim’s mother, Louise, for this chance meeting. She was at a frail time in her life and needed a home that could provide 24-hour care.&nbsp;It was at Willow Lane Assisted Living our story first began.&nbsp;After several meetings and conversations taking care of business, a sense of comfort and intrigue began to embrace us.&nbsp;Could there be more?&nbsp; A first date, a first kiss, and we were like teenagers all over again!&nbsp;With hunting, fishing, sports, music and the outdoors in common, the fun began… and two worlds collided.&nbsp;Coming from very different backgrounds and lifestyles, our adventures were mixed with first time experiences including a Brewer’s game, Badger's hockey game and Packer’s game for Brenda, and camping with no amenities, kayaking, Christian music concerts and ziplining for Jim.&nbsp;Ziplining in the mountains of Colorado was a first for us both.&nbsp;We’ll let you guess who was more scared😊.&nbsp;With every adventure we both agreed, all that mattered is that we were together.&nbsp; It hasn’t always been easy.&nbsp;With the differences came challenges, but with each one, our love grew stronger; validating the very first moment we knew this was for life.&nbsp;Trusting in God and relying on His grace gave us the strength to continue through any doubt that arose.&nbsp; We want to especially give credit, honor and thanks to our mothers: Louise and Sally.&nbsp;Jim's mother, Louise, had a mother’s intuition that allowed her to see the reality of our relationship despite our commitment to what we thought was protecting her from it.&nbsp;She shared many stories with Brenda about Jim’s younger days and noted, based on something once said, that one out of seven children would end up in prison, and it should have been Jim.&nbsp;LOL!&nbsp;We never told her of our love, but when she was just a couple of weeks from going home to be with her Savior, she lovingly gave us her blessing and reassured us of her approval.&nbsp;A very special and beautiful moment we’ll never forget.&nbsp;Brenda's mother, Sally, thought the world of Jim whom she lovingly called “Ted.”&nbsp;You’ll have to ask😊.&nbsp;She loved it when we’d visit and watch Packer games with her, and when Jim would carry her into his truck, load her wheelchair, and take her to the bar so she could play the machines.&nbsp;After a heroic battle with breast cancer, she too went home to be with her Savior.&nbsp;She was so grateful to see her daughter happy and loved by a good man before she went home.&nbsp; We also want to mention our gratitude for the love and support of our 8 children: James, Michael, CJ, Kyria, Kayne, Lee, Tim and Justin; their spouses and&nbsp;their children.&nbsp;We are so very blessed!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Our desire for you is to relax, have fun and safely enjoy our Big Day. That is why we have arranged complimentary transportation to and from the wedding venue. We will have two shuttles running starting at 2:15 pm. Shuttle departure locations:Comfort Suites: 400 S Koeller St. OshkoshHilton Garden Inn: 1355 W 20th Ave. Oshkosh For guests taking the shuttles to the ceremony, there will be three departure times from the above hotels: 2:15 pm, 2:45 pm and 3:15 pm. Return shuttles to ALL hotels will be available after the ceremony starting at 4:00 pm and running approximately every 30 minutes based on demand. The shuttles (vans) will have blue and white signs on the front doors on both sides that say "Brenda &amp; Jim." The drivers names and cell numbers are: Aaron 920.470.0655 &amp; Austin 920.441.2464
