Our Wedding

Ken and Brenda found each other on eHarmony. Their first date was at the River Market in Kansas City on Father's Day - June 16, 2024. Their second date was on June 17. Their third date was on June 18. Their fourth date was on June 20. Here is the best way to say it: their first date was June 16, and, unless one of them has been out of town or state, they have been together every day since June 16, 2024. Most think of FOMO - "fear of missing out" - through the lens of, "If I commit to this person, who are the awesome other persons I am going to miss out on meeting?" For Ken and Brenda, FOMO has worked another way. Almost immediately the concern became the fear of missing out on spending the current and next day together. They wanted and want to spend their days, weeks, and now, lives, together. Their concern is not focused on who they have not met; their concern is focused on enjoying and loving the one they have met. On January 1, 2025, Ken proposed to Brenda at home. It was simple, romantic, thoughtful, and meaningful to both of them. He asked; she said yes. The wedding ceremony will be an intimate, short service at Grand River Chapel on the campus of William Jewell College for family and a few family-like friends. The venue holds meaning to the Brenda and Ken for a couple of reasons. First, their faith is important to both of them, so marrying in a church is an ideal setting. The second reason is personal to Ken, as he attended William Jewell College. Grand River Chapel is beautiful and a perfect setting for their wedding. The day following the wedding ceremony, July 20, the married couple will host an open house for friends, neighbors, and coworkers at their home.
