Our Wedding

It all started in a little college duplex at Purdue — Brenna lived downstairs, Evan lived upstairs. What began as a few casual group hangouts between upstairs and downstairs neighbors quickly turned into something more (thanks to a few awkward attempts at flirtation and Brenna finally asking Evan to hang out one-on-one). Our first official date was a fishing trip, where Evan patiently taught Brenna how to cast a line... after she got it stuck in a tree. From there, our relationship slowly grew — it was both of our first times in a serious relationship, and over time we figured it all out together. After graduating, we tackled long-distance while Brenna was in grad school. Every month, we would meet halfway in Salina, Kansas — not exactly a romantic hotspot, but we made it our own. One of our favorite memories is sneaking blankets and pillows out of our hotel to go to a drive-in movie theater where the sound wouldn't work... so we had to lip-read&nbsp;Dunkirk&nbsp;instead. Over the years, our story hasn’t been without its twists — we took time apart at different points, but ultimately, we always found our way back to each other. And after seven years (and a whole lot of growth), our love and relationship has only grown stronger. Now we live together with our dog Winston and four backyard chickens (Stella, Betty, Wilma, and Dixie). We love gardening, cooking, going on hikes, and planning adventures — including our first international trip we took together to Spain and Iceland and, soon, our wedding! Evan proposed on a quiet beach in South Haven, Michigan, at sunset while we were “looking for Petoskeys.” We’ve come a long way from that duplex in college — and we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you!

Accomodations 

We have 3 room blocks set up for you to choose from with rooms on May 7th and 8th. Information is noted below on our blocks at the Best Western in Saugatuck, the Holiday Inn Express in South Haven, and the Hampton Inn in South Haven. South Haven is approximately 20 minutes (19 miles) from the Ivy House in Saugatuck. A shuttle will be available before the ceremony and after the reception. Our wedding is the same weekend as the Tulip Festival that is held in Holland, MI each year. Accommodations in nearby towns will book quickly so we recommend booking a hotel or an airbnb well in advance. Please note that available rooms in the room blocks will be released after April 7th. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
