We Eloped!
We Eloped!
We had a civil ceremony in our new hometown in the middle of our shared birthday week. Why not celebrate an anniversary and two birthdays together each year moving forward? With just us and an assigned officiant, we kept the ceremony short, replacing the county's scripted vows with our own haikus.
After a quick change of clothes, we drove to San Francisco where we enjoyed the energy of the city and waterfront views as a married couple! The next morning, we took the Pacific Crest Highway up to Mendocino County in a '65 convertible Mustang.
The following day was spent exploring gardens, forests and coastlines in pursuit of the right location to exchange our vows. Although we were legally bound, it didn't feel official until this day. The remainder of the weekend included oysters at the harbor, a train ride into the redwoods, and quiet time on the shore.
You all were in our hearts and on our minds throughout the week. The decision to elope was not made lightly and was a reflection of our desire for an intimate moment where we could focus on one another. We are grateful for your constant love and support and hope to call on it throughout our union.
It means a lot to us to be able to share our happiness and commitment with you!
