Brent and Allison's story started in 2020, 2 years before they officially first hung out. Brent and Allison talked on and off those 2 years and made numerous attempts to hang out again, but nothing ever worked out. Finally, Memorial Day weekend in 2022, Brent last minute reached out to Allison and asked to hang out and what do you know, it finally happened! From that day on, the rest is history. Brent even told an old friend of his that after Allison and him parted ways that evening, he knew Allison was "the one". From there, they started dating a few weeks later and spent every day possible together, working around Brent's crazy work schedule and Allison moving further away to Valpo. A few months later, Brent asked Allison to move in. She broke her lease, packed up her belongings, and Ruby, her cat, and moved in with him. If you knew Brent before Allison came along, he was never a cat person, but Allison's cat Ruby stole Brent's heart just like Allison did. Shortly after that, they added another cat, Chance, to their little family.
Brent, knowing Allison was always the one, wanted to propose on their 1 year anniversary they took a trip to Michigan for the weekend. Unfortunately, Brent had to go out of town back to back to the weeks leading up to their anniversary, so he was unable to get the ring before their trip. Once back from the trip, and no longer having to go out of town for work, he was finally able to order the ring. Brent tried to plan a proposal and wanted their closest friends and family to be there; however, too many people meant too many schedules to work around. On Friday, June 30, 2023, Brent decided today was the day as he didn't want to wait any longer. Brent changed his original plan and decided to just have his mom and Allison's mom be there for that special moment. The plan was on, and Brent needed to get to work. He texted Allison while she was at work and said let's go to Prime Steakhouse tonight. Allison thinking that's a little odd since they only go to Prime Steakhouse for special occasions, agreed to go. Once Allison got off work, she went home and started to get ready for what she thought was just a date night. Brent, being nervous, decided he needed a drink to calm his nerves. Not wanting to be rude, he offered Allison a drink. She said sure and he went to go grab her something from the refrigerator. Well, the only thing in there was a cider that had an ABV of 12%. Needless to say, Allison got the giggles, which happens when she starts to drink. When Brent got down on one knee at the Crown Point Square and said, "Will you marry me?" Allison's response was "hehe okay".  Brent clarified if that meant yes, and it sure did! The 2 were engaged and couldn't be happier! The beautiful moment was caught by Brent's mom from across the street and Allison's mom hiding in a brush in front of the courthouse. Brent and Allison even added to their little family shortly after with another cat named Leo.
They are working hard to make their wedding day special and everything they have always dreamed of! They can't wait to celebrate with all their friends and family on June 21, 2025!🤍
