When should I RSVP?
ASAP would be appreciated but we will need our final count by July 22, 2025.
What do I wear?
Brett and I will be in our full formal wedding attire. While we'd love to see you dressed up, we also want you to be comfortable. Kansas City is HOT in August! We're suggesting "cocktail attire" for the evening, such as:
Men - a dress shirt or polo, with dress pants. If you want to wear a tie or jacket - thats up to you!
Women - a sun dress or jumpsuit and comfy dancing shoes!
Can I bring a plus one or my children?
Our venue and budget allows for only a select number of guests. Please refer to your invitation to clarify invitation for any plus ones or children.
Where should I park?
Our venue is located downtown and parking is VERY limited. We highly recommend using Uber, Lyft, or your own two feet to get to and from our venue. For those staying in the hotels with reserved rooms, the walk is between 2 and 6 blocks to our venue. The (free) KC Street Car is also just one block east of our venue (1721 Baltimore Ave) for easy access to other hotels.
Is there an open bar?
Yes, of course ;)
Whats on the menu?
We will be catering an upscale taco bar for dinner, with chips and salsa for an appetizer, and a cookie bar for dessert.
What if I have allergies or dietary restrictions?
All entrée items will be gluten-free, and no animal products are used in non-meat dishes. For example, the rice and beans are prepared without butter or chicken stock.
If you're vegan or vegetarian, you'll have plenty of choices. Additionally, no dishes contain nuts, nut oils, or fish.
Where should we stay?
Kansas City has a LOT of hotel options down town. There are four different hotels that we are doing a room block. All four of those hotels are within a few blocks of our venue and are on or about a 1/2 block off the (FREE) Kansas City Street Car for ease in moving around the downtown area. PLEASE reserve your hotel room by early-to-mid July as the block will be released (dates vary, based on individual hotel - see travel page for those details).
What are the venue facilities like?
Union 828 is a 3-floor, high ceiling, red-brick, rustic-industrial building that has a Speakeasy vibe on the lowest level. There is an elevator and restrooms on each floor or stairs option. It is one block from the free KC street car line and near many hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment.
Will there be a ceremony?
Nope. We will be celebrating our one month anniversary with you all! You should expect to see us around the whole night! No flash or flair, just a good time!
Will there be music? or dance floor?
YES! We will have the live band, Twice on Sunday, as our entertainment for the evening. We plan to do A LOT of dancing!
