Our Wedding

Our story begins like many Hallmark movies...at a wedding. It was June 2022 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Brett was a groomsman for one of his best college friends, while Emily was a bridesmaid for her childhood best friend. Brett &amp; Emily were paired to walk down the aisle together during the wedding ceremony exit. Little did they know, that was the start of their life together.

How We Met

Like the old saying goes...distance makes the heart grow fonder. Brett and Emily began their relationship as a long-distance couple and spent the majority of their first year of dating traveling to see each other. Brett was living in Nashville at the time, while Emily was in Dallas. They knew it wouldn't be the easiest way to start a relationship, but they both knew it would be worth it in the end. Plus, they were able to rack up a good amount of airline miles traveling to see each other! Over the nearly 2 years they dated, they traveled to numerous places together, attended many concerts and sporting events, and played hundreds of games of darts against each other (a few of which Emily even won). They also took plenty of time to learn each other's likes &amp; dislikes, quirks, and motivations - such as their mutual love of music, their families, Brett's dog Blair, and good food. Brett &amp; Emily are both truly thankful for their time together up to this point, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.

Falling In Love

It was the ideal proposal...the perfect place, the perfect day, the perfect way. Although Brett no longer lived in Nashville, both Brett &amp; Emily still share a fondness for the city and love to visit when they can. That's why Brett knew it would be the perfect place to propose. Brett &amp; Emily were on a trip to Nashville and Brett had set up a couples photo shoot for them in one of their favorite areas of town. Emily was suspicious though, since they had never done a photo shoot together and had never talked about doing one. They started the photo shoot and the photographer directed Brett to hug Emily from behind for the next few shots. When Brett didn't wrap his arms around Emily for a hug like the photographer directed, Emily turned around to see what the hold up was. That's when she saw Brett on one knee with a ring in his hands and he asked the most important question "Will you marry me?". Overwhelmed with joy, Emily said "Yes!" to marrying the love of her life. It was a moment filled with pure love and happiness (and a few happy tears from both Brett &amp; Emily). They continued with the planned photo shoot, which had now become an engagement photo shoot. Our wedding journey began with this unforgettable proposal, and we can't wait to celebrate our love with all of you on our wedding day.

HOW DO I GET TO THE VENUE?

The host hotel and the other hotels listed on our website are within 5-to-10 minute walk. If you are not staying at a hotel within walking distance, we encourage you to use a shared ride service, such as Uber or Lyft, so you can enjoy yourself at the reception. If you choose to drive your personal vehicle, there are three self-parking lots which are a short walk to the venue. Below are the addresses of these 3 parking lots, as well as a map that shows the location of these parking lots in relation to the venue:1. 210 S. Harwood St (Jackson St Garage) – Covered Parking - $15.002. 1710 Jackson St, Dallas, TX – Surface Lot - $10.003. 1720 Wood St., Dallas, TX – Surface Lot - $10.00 We will have ushers that can help should you need to drop someone off at the venue prior to parking.

As our wedding weekend aligns with one of the first weekends of summer, we highly recommend securing your accommodations at your earliest convenience. While we have reserved a block of rooms at The Statler Hotel for your convenience, if you prefer an alternative lodging option, we suggest considering accommodations in the downtown area - we have included a few options that are close to the wedding venue. All of our wedding events will be held in downtown Dallas, making it a convenient choice for a memorable weekend celebration.
