Making a trip out of your visit?
Mount Evans Scenic Byway
Located about 1.5 hours from Denver, reservation required. It is the highest paved road in North America. A day trip to the top is a journey that snakes and climbs through nearly 9,000 feet of elevation gain, from the high plains of Denver through five climate zones to the 14,264-foot summit of Mount Evans, one of 54 peaks in Colorado that soar to 14,000 feet and above – the famous “fourteeners.” If you plan to do this, we recommend being here in Colorado for 1-2 days prior to reduce risk of altitude sickness.
Hike St. Mary's Glacier
Located 1 hour from Denver, just off I-70! A short 1.5 mile hike with minimal elevation gain that ends at an alpine lake. Shoes with good traction recommended as it’s very likely snow will still be around. Parking is $20, cash only.
The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse
This tea house was a gift to the city of Boulder from the mayor of Dushanbe, Tajikistan. It is absolutely gorgeous and worth a visit! Boulder is about 40 minutes from Denver. Reservations needed for dinner otherwise it is first come first served.
