Our Wedding

It was June 2022, and Hannah’s beloved dog Riley had been diagnosed with a mast cell tumor. While scrolling on Tinder in the waiting room during one of her many visits to VERG animal hospital in Park Slope, Hannah matched with Brian - who lived a few blocks away - on Tinder (you could say Riley brought them together…)

Brian and Hannah's Story

Brian asked Hannah out to a D’Antan, a wine bar in Crown Heights (Hannah was running late,as usual). The first thing Hannah noticed about Brian was his phone background - Lorde’s “Melodrama” album cover, confirming he had excellent taste in music. The first thing Brian noticed about Hannah&nbsp; was her blue eyes. That night - which took them from the wine bar to the now-closed jazz bar Wild Birds to the dance floor at Friends and Lovers - was one they did not want to end. Riley still had many follow-up chemo appointments in Park Slope, which made for a great excuse for Brian and Hannah to catch up on coffee dates. In July 2022, Brian and Hannah went to a Taylor Swift dance party at Quantum in Brooklyn - and it was there on the dance floor that Hannah knew he was keeper.

First Date

After that night, Brian realized he’d never find anyone as cool, unique, perfect, and beautiful as Hannah and decided to lock it down. About a month after they met. Brian asked Hannah to be exclusive while they walked Riley outside Ka-Vá Kava Bar (RIP Ka-Vá).

COURTSHIP

They had a solid three weeks of a honeymoon phase before something extremely dramatic and crazy happened - Hannah died. ..Almost died.

HONEYMOON PHASE

Originally misdiagnosed with scarlet fever, Hannah was hospitalized by an allergic reaction to medication. After the doctor pumped her with the wake-up juice, Brian showed up to the hospital with her favorite flowers - sunflowers. Brian stayed with Hannah and watched over her dog Riley. He met Hannah’s mother Colleen for the first time in the ICU, and visited Hannah every day for the week of her recovery. Honeymoon phase OVER.

Scarlet Fever/Victorian Child Era

In just a short time, Hannah and Brian were forced to reckon with 1) how much they meant to each other and 2) mortality. There were other trials by fire - Hannah’s terrible former job (boo), Riley tearing his ACL, and not getting Taylor Swift concert tickets on Hannah’s birthday.

Flop Era

There have also been incredible highs - from moving into their first perfect dream apartment together in Greenpoint right on McCarren Park, running their first half marathon together, hosting their annual holiday and Oscars parties with their amazing friends, and traveling to Italy to celebrate their joint 30th birthday.

We're So Back

Hannah and Brian are so lucky to have found each other. They share a similar sense of humor, empathy, superior music taste, love of Riley, and most importantly Gemini zodiac signs. We’re so excited to share this special day with you, our loved ones…and enemies.
