Gab and Anya's relationship grew during Gab's last few years of university when Gab became Anya's spiritual director, and Anya became her (now retired) love counsellor. She has always been there for Anya with heart-filled advice and is always up for a bubble tea date!

Sam is one of Brian’s younger brothers and has received the high honour of being best man. Brian and Sam have been good friends ever since Sam stopped acting like a little brother. Sam is currently studying civil engineering at Queens, where he enjoys activities such as wearing purple, talking about bridges and pretending university is difficult.

Elyse & Anya have been hostile enemies, roommates, playing buddies, partners in crime and most importantly, the best of friends since 2005. They have always bonded over their love of complaining about swimming and being at the bottom of the family food chain. Elyse has always been Anya's main source of bear hugs and physical affection.

William is another one of Brian’s younger brothers. William is the middle child and has never stopped acting like one. They share a great bond that has been tested and strengthened through doing side jobs together and sharing a bedroom for 19 years. William enjoys hobbies such as asking to borrow Brian's car and copying his career path. Love you, buddy.

Rachel and Anya have been an iconic duo for 22 years. In any photos growing up, Anya and Rachel were joint at the hip, from being baptized together to graduating high school and meeting up in Italy while studying abroad. As their faith has grown throughout adulthood, so has their friendship.

Jack and Brian met during college in Peterborough and quickly bonded over gym sessions, chaotic parties, and losing money to bad crypto deals. Jack is a computer guy who loves talking all things tech, while Brian nods his head pretending to understand. When he’s not explaining mainframes and firewalls, Jack enjoys buying sporty cars that are far faster and more luxurious than he needs, however they are pretty sweet.

Saje is the youngest of the Desmond cousin clan, coming in at 16 this year! That is crazy and wild. Anya and her bond over being soccer lovers, bubble tea/fun drink date fanatics, and share their love for beating anybody and everybody at Speed. We will be pulling out decks of cards and playing Speed during the dinner if needed or challenged ;)

Brogan and Brian’s friendship stretches years back to stick-driving lessons and drifting around empty parking lots in high school, truly the foundation of any great friendship. His latest and greatest passion has been rat research at Trent University where he genuinely enjoys killing rats and then talking about it in way too much detail, ask him about it. Brogan and Brian have bonded over their shared taste in great music, countless beers, and Brian showing him around Europe throughout their travels.

Abbey and Anya have been friends for four years and, in those years, have lived through most of the big stages of life, from being single university students to dating, to double dating, to being engaged, to learning to cook, to working out, and to dressing nicely. Abbey and Anya are looking forward to being cousin-in-law-best friends and continuing to hit more of life's milestones together!

Joseph is one of Brian’s oldest friends. The two of them have bonded over lots of camping trips, cheap beers, and taking infinite mulligans in golf. Joseph enjoys shaking hands, networking, and grabbing a beer sometime. He claims he “knew the whole time” that Brian and Anya would get married, however no one believes him

Alida & Anya met on the bus on their way to the cathedral in their first year at Trent. They bonded immediately over being catholic, Alida being an absolute catch, going to the gym together at 7 am and staying up for hours talking in the student center. They always look forward to the weekends or weeks when they find themselves both available for Alida to come up and visit! Thank you for making the drive 'lida :)

Jon Paul is another one of Brian’s oldest friends and a fellow blue-collar worker. Known for never letting the party die, Jon Paul and Brian have shared many beers, road trips to college parties, and a deep, mutual love for air conditioning. Pretty cool right? He’s also an avid sports gambler and assures everyone that he’s “definitely winning big this time.”

Anastasia and Anya have become gym and prayer, accountability buddies - calling to make sure they get out of bed in the morning and sending motivation throughout the day. There aren't many people who can call at such an early time and get a chipper voice on the other end, but this friendship can do it! Anastasia's friendship has grown and deepened in the last couple of years and has been incredibly life-giving, authentic and invaluable.

Matt is Brian’s brother-in-law and good friend. He is definitely someone you want around in an emergency. He’s a firefighter in Toronto, a military guy, and rides a motorcycle like he’s some kind of recruitment ad. If anything goes wrong at the wedding, Matt will be the first to respond and the most excited guy on the scene.

Teagan and Anya have been friends since their early swimming years. Their friendship continued to grow throughout middle and high school - Teagan would continue to outswim Anya at her best events, and Anya would bring her up to date on classics like Disney's The Princess Frog and The Parent Trap. Teagan and Anya have remained close as adults and continue to enjoy their annual Knox hikes and coffee dates!
