The town has a Friday Night Jamboree. Go down and listen to some Americana and folk outside, or head into the Country Store or Dogtown for more music

Go see a Roanoke staple, the star on Mill Mountain. Drive up and catch some views, or simply take a gander from down in Roanoke City

The ceremony will be on the parkway, however feel free to drive it and take in all the beautiful overlooks. South heads deeper into Floyd towards North Carolina, and North takes you down to Roanoke (and the star!)
