Our Story

Brian and Emily met online in August of 2020. With covid in full swing, dating definitely had a different look about it. They shared their first date at Emily's condo, where they had Chipotle and took Emily’s dog, Matilda, for a walk. A few weeks later, on a camping trip in St. Leon, Indiana, they exchanged “I love you” at sunrise. Less than three weeks into dating, Emily bought a Subaru. Anyone who knows the Fuehner family knows they are a Subaru family.

Just after their one year anniversary, Brian and Emily took a trip to one of Emily's favorite places on Earth: Charleston, SC. She went to College of Charleston and considers the peninsula her second home. She showed Brian all of her favorite places like Magnolia Plantation, the Battery, the Angel Oak, Folly Beach, and Shem Creek.

One day in September 2021, Brian sent Emily a text with a picture of a pop up camper and one line: “I may have done a thing.” Cue the beginning of some amazing memories. The pop up is affectionately called Sunny because of the rainy weather they had on their first few trips.

The following May, they went to one of Brian's favorite places on Earth: the Smokies in Tennessee. They went up to the Sky Bridge, walked through Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, and enjoyed an amazing afternoon at the Chimney picnic area in Smoky Mountain National Park. That area was officially dubbed their favorite place in the park. Another main reason for the trip is the Tail of the Dragon. 213 curves in 11 miles on the border between TN and NC. A car enthusiast's dream!

Over the course of their relationship, Brian and Emily have shared a love of cooking, camping, and Pyrex hunting. Some signature dishes include Chicken Alfredo, taco salad, and the world's best breakfast. Brown County, Indiana has become a fun afternoon filled with some of their favorite stores. And the hunt is always on to finish various sets of Pyrex dishes.

Fast forward to September 2023 when Brian and Emily went to the Smokies for a long weekend. On that Saturday morning at the Chimney Picnic area, sitting on the banks of the Little Pigeon River with no one around, Brian asked Emily if she would marry him. She of course said yes!

Now here they are, getting ready to celebrate one of life's most amazing beginnings. They are beyond grateful to their families who are undoubtedly the most incredible role models and support systems. They cannot wait to spend their special day surrounded by family and friends!
