We matched on Hinge — and yes, Brian made the first move. Our plan was simple: meet somewhere public, grab food, and make sure the other wasn’t a total psycho weirdo. (Romance at its finest.)

We met at Flower Child in The Woodlands, sat in the back, and ended up talking for over two hours — long after our food was gone. Somewhere between laughter and deep conversation, we realized how much we had in common: a shared faith, a love of fitness, music, and philosophy, and a mutual appreciation for being outdoors.

Alexa didn’t waste time — she told Brian right away that she was dating with the intention of marriage. He appreciated her honesty and said he was looking for the same thing. A week later, we went on our second date, and by May 2023, we were officially together.

That summer brought moments that deepened our connection. In June 2023, while Brian was on a fishing trip in Galveston, he received the news that his mother’s health was worsening. Before leaving, he had asked Alexa to stay at his house and care for his cat, Eve — a small gesture that carried a lot of trust. It was a meaningful time that drew us closer, and it reminded us how precious life and love truly are.

One of our favorite lighter memories from that year was when Brian surprised Alexa with Sleep Token tickets for her birthday — a band she had been obsessed with. The line to get in wrapped around several city blocks, and when it started raining, we just laughed, talked with people around us, and had fun in the downpour.

Over time, we learned what it means to build something real — through communication, patience, and mutual respect. When Brian asked Alexa to move in and she wasn’t ready, he listened. Later, when she brought up a boundary, he didn’t hesitate to adjust. It’s in those everyday moments that love quietly deepens.

In September 2024, just before a casual day out in The Heights, Brian got down on one knee at home and proposed — simple, sweet, and completely us. He had worked with a jeweler to design a custom ring, and when he opened the box, there wasn’t a doubt in Alexa’s mind.

We eloped in May 2025, choosing to keep the ceremony intimate and meaningful — just us, God, and a whole lot of love.

As we step into this next chapter, we hold deep gratitude for the people who shaped us — including Brian’s parents, whose love and legacy continue to guide us.

This spring, we’re so excited to finally celebrate that moment with all of you — the friends and family who have supported, loved, and prayed for us along the way. We can’t wait to share this next chapter together.
