Brian was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He attended Shawnee Mission South High School and then Kansas State University to get his teaching degree. That led him to Hutchinson High School, where he taught biology.

Brady was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. He went to Hutchinson High School and Kansas State University for his engineering degree.

Brady and Brian met when Brady was a student at Hutch High, and Brian was a teacher. They spent a lot of time together in school, as Brian helped teach a few of Brady's classes, helped with the marching band that Brady was in, and coached the Scholars Bowl team that Brady was the captain of. Brian also sponsored an after-school board game club that Brady and his friends spent a lot of time with. When Brady graduated from high school in 2016, they knew they would be friends for a long time.

Brady started at K-State in 2016, and Brian continued to see Brady there, as he had season tickets for K-State football and basketball. Brian and Brady continued to be friends, playing board games, going to Taco Lucha, and attending K-State games together when Brady wasn't busy with classes and marching band. As their friendship grew, they started to realize they felt more than just friendship for each other. Eventually, they started dating, and their love continued to grow from there!

When Brady graduated from college during the pandemic in 2020, much about the future was unknown. However, Brady and Brian knew they wanted to be together, so Brady took a job at the CHS oil refinery in McPherson, KS, just 30 minutes away from his hometown and where Brian lived in Hutchinson. After a year spent living with his parents, Brady bought a house with Brian in Hutchinson in June 2021, where they have lived ever since with their cat, Buddy. They continue to go to K-State games, play board games, go to movies, hang out with friends and family, and do almost everything together. They also love to travel, having been to St. Louis, Chicago, NYC, Seattle, Portland, Dallas, Orlando, and Philadelphia, and this past spring, they went to Athens and Rome!

In May 2024, Brady and Brian took a special trip to Cancun, Mexico. There, they stayed at a resort, lounging by the pool and the beach and eating at every restaurant the resort had to offer. One evening, they went down to the beach and exchanged identical rings. After many years together, they were finally engaged! They hurried home to start the planning and are so excited to celebrate with everyone in June 2025!
