Our story is a bit of a typical “country boy meets city girl” story, with a modern-day dating

twist.

We actually met and knew of each other through a mutual friend long before we started dating. One day on the popular dating app, Bumble, Brian opened up his phone to a message from Bailey in regards to that mutual friend. Brian’s first thought was “oh no, what did I do to embarrass myself so much that she felt she needed to reach out to me?” Luckily, Bailey’s intentions were good and we started to hit it off- first on the app, and then via text message. However, this is where the story gets a little bit muddy depending on who you ask. Brian worked up the courage to ask Bailey out on a date thinking it was a lock. To his surprise Bailey said she could not yet go on a date with him. Now, if you ask Brian, Bailey said no because she was intimidated by his country boy lifestyle and personality, but if you ask Bailey it is because she had some other things she needed to take care of in her life prior to diving into a relationship. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Months went by and Brian couldn’t take it anymore. In April of 2022 he once again reached out to Bailey to ask her on a date. This time she said yes! On April 29, 2022 we went on our first date at Indeed Brewing and it was immediate fireworks. From there we started seeing each other regularly and eventually decided to be exclusive. We started to go on trips together, meet each other’s families, and yes, Bailey even started to do some fishing. The more time we spent together, the more our love grew and the more we could see our future together.

On May 25, 2023 we closed on our first home in Eden Prairie, MN with plans of starting our lives together. After a few months of living together, Brian once again could not wait any longer and asked Bailey’s dad for his blessing. Some say he strategically asked while Mike was in a deer stand because it’s hard not be romantic while deer hunting. Within a week Brian had a ring purchased and in his hand. That Friday we had plans with our friends (Kelly and Aaron) to have a couple’s game night. Brian planned out a treasure hunt for the game night, with Kelly and Aaron both in the loop, to lead to his proposal. On December 1, 2023 Bailey followed the treasure hunt that led her to a note with her name on it. She read the note aloud, talking about how much she means to Brian, and as she finished Brian got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. After dating for a little more than 18 months we decided to dedicate the rest of our lives together, and on August 9, 2024 we will make it official. We can't wait!
