1. What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

We recommend that guests arrive 15 minutes or so before the official ceremony start time of 4:15 PM so they can get settled before the proceedings.


2. What is the dress code?

We ask that guests dress in formal attire. We hope our wedding is on a warm late Spring day. Floral dresses and jumpsuits, light suits and ties, etc. are recommended. The event will take place both indoor and outdoors, so please wear shoes that support you in grass and on the dance floor. If you would like to coordinate with the wedding, you are welcome to wear pastel colors.


3. Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

The Wedding will take place outdoors while the sun is shining and then will move indoors as the sun goes down. Please bring a light coat or shawl if you tend to run cool or sunscreen, a hat, and bug repellent if the day runs unusually warm.


4. What will the weather be like?

An average day in late April in Richmond, VA has a high in the mid 70s, with a low in the 50s after sunset. We hope to take advantage of this amazing weather, but if April showers make an appearance, we will move the entire event indoors.


5. What does your wedding-day timeline look like?

4:15 PM Ceremony

5:00 PM Cocktail Hour

6:00 PM Grand Entrances and First Dance

6:30 PM Seated Al Fresco Dinner

8:00 PM Dancing, Dessert, and General Merriment

9:30 PM First Shuttle Back to Hotels

11:00 PM Grand Exit and Shuttles back to Richmond


6. How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

There is a parking lot on Dover Hall Property in case guests prefer to provide their own transportation. Otherwise, we recommend Uber, Lyft, or cab service from Richmond to the Venue. We will be providing buses for guests to return to Richmond after the wedding. The first bus will depart at 9:30pm for any guests who would like to leave early, with the rest available to depart at 11:00pm. Transport will drop guests off at the Homewood and Hampton Inn & Suites Richmond Downtown hotel (where Ubers or Lyfts can easily be found for guests not staying at one of the hotels on our website). Please do not drink and drive.


7. Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

There is a parking lot on Dover Hall Property. The property has requested that all guests who take the shuttle home return to pick up their cars by 10 AM the following day. There will not be valet service offered.


8. Can I bring my kids?

We love kids, but we want you to be able to enjoy a night off. Please do not bring anyone who is not explicitly invited to our wedding.


9. What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

We'll be serving light passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour with some snacking stations, followed by a two-course plated dinner and finally dessert stations during the reception.


10. I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

When you complete your online RSVP form, please list any dietary restrictions so we can address them with our caterer.


11. Will there be an open bar?

We are happily offering a full open bar to our guests over the age of 21. Soft drinks and juices are available for guests who choose not to consume alcohol. If you plan to remain sober for the event, please let us know on your RSVP form so that we may stock the bar accordingly. Gratuity has already been covered by our package, but as someone who works in hospitality, I’m sure no one will turn down additional cash tips.


12. Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

Yes! Please find this information listed in the travel section of our wedding website.


13. Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

While we love photos, we also want all of our guests to be fully present during our wedding. We will have a professional photographer on site, so feel free to put the phone away. Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. If you would like to take pictures, Feel free to capture and share memories beforehand and afterward. We will likely be posting signage as to how you can share your pictures with us as well!


14. What's the best way to RSVP?

15. When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by December 31st, 2023.


16. I can't attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration?

At this time, we do not plan to Video Call or Livestream our wedding. If you cannot make it and want to view our wedding video in a few months, please let us know.


17. I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in Richmond?

There is so much to do in Richmond and the surrounding area! You can find this information on the "Things to Do" tab on our wedding website.


18. Do you have a wedding registry?

We are registered on The Knot and Amazon.com


19. Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Your presence is present enough, but should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a gift table for your convenience.


20. Will there be any other events to attend during the wedding weekend?

Our wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are private events. You are welcome to join us for Welcome Drinks at Kabana Rooftop (above the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites) on Thursday April 25th from 8:00-11:00 PM. This welcome reception will not be an open bar. Please plan accordingly.

22. When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?

The reception will end at 11:00 to allow for a grand exit and shuttles back to Richmond. As of right now, we are not planning an after party. Guests wishing to keep the night going are welcome to meet up at a bar in Downtown Richmond, preferably one that is walking distance from our hotel blocks. We recommend guests go to the bar on the top of our hotel, which will be open until 1 am.


23. What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

Any guests exhibiting cold/flu symptoms are kindly asked to stay home. Guests who are concerned have the option to wear a mask or remain outside for the entirety of our wedding.


24. How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?

God-Forbid, if we need to communicate about any last minute changes, we will be contacting wedding guests via email and text message.
