Before their meeting, Briana was a senior at Oregon State working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Business, eager to graduate and start her career in the corporate world. At the same time, Luke was coming off his first season as the starting punter for the Beavers.


The two of them met a couple of weeks into 2021. On a Friday night, they both had the same idea to head to the Downward Dog—not a yoga studio but a popular college bar. Briana noticed Luke from a neighboring table, so she quickly struck up a conversation. She was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and easy it was talking to him and Luke was impressed by her charm and how full and organized her calendar app was. Hours passed and they kept learning more about each other until the bar was empty. The lights were turned out and the night was over. They planned on meeting again.


Once she got home, Briana immediately called her sister and told her that she had just met the man she was going to marry.


A few weeks of study dates and Chipotle dinners later, the two started officially dating. Or as Briana’s dad, Mik, likes to call it, “visiting”.  


Over the next few years, their relationship was filled with Luke’s football games, trips around the country, and a lot of time spent with Briana’s senior dog, Dyna. 


After Luke finished school, the two moved to Denver to start a life together. In June of 2024 at Clement Park, Luke surprised Briana by not only proposing to her but also having both families there to celebrate.
