This story of girl knows boy dates back over ten years to Pomperaug High School where Chris was a senior at the time that Bri started as a freshman. They both played soccer and Bri developed a bit of a crush after watching the boys varsity team play. Chris would hang out with some of his closest friends at his buddy's house which happened to be Bri's neighbor at the time. But the two wouldn't cross paths until Chris finally moved back to CT from Boston, MA.
Chris and Bri noticed each other in a small town bar and shyly said hi after locking eyes from across the room. Of course, Chris would be too nervous to ask for her number that night and had to set up a time for a group of friends to hang out... friends that he could trust would bring Bri along. After going back to the same bar, hopping next door for more drinks, and spending time with their friends after, they had both confirmed their interest in one another. The first date was dinner and bowling and by the time a second date began, it already felt like something more familiar than ever before. After a few more weeks of going out and forming a relationship, Bri flew out to visit Montana just before Christmas. While neither may have expected it, they began to miss each other within a couple days and realized this was something worth holding on to. Chris surprised Bri at the airport when they landed and they stayed up all night talking until they opened a diner at 4am. From this point forward, they knew they'd fallen in love.
We were incredibly fortunate to bump into each other at a time that we least expected to find our perfect person. Getting to know each other was a breeze, and the times that ensued afterwards would bring us closer in no time. We found comfort in one another and someone that we could depend on. We took risks together, and were rewarded for it. We traveled together and made timeless memories because of it. And we've never faltered to be each other's brightest light. In some ways our story is just beginning as we prepare to parent together, but we already know it's the best book we'll ever read.
