Ashwin and I met while attending our local church in Lynchburg. I had already been attending for two years while at Liberty finishing my degree. But the third year, a very handsome bass player joined the praise team at my church. After initial introductions, I learned that he was already good friends with my roommate. So, over the next couple of weeks, careful plans were set into action to ensure that Ashwin would always be invited to bonfires and movie nights at our apartment. Little did I know just how much was going on behind the scenes to ensure his attendance. I was just happy to get to know him.

After being good friends for a while, eventually our story of true love began when he asked me to be his girlfriend. Week by week we began to learn more about each other through the times that we shared together. Learning about your significant other and how he thinks is a task within itself. We brought two very different cultures into our relationship and have had to be dedicated to always being in open communication to work everything out. Mark 10:9 says “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Our love and friendship have grown the longer we are together and has only been a stronger indicator of our devotion to one another.

It has been an amazing journey thus far, and we are so excited to begin our marriage. God has blessed us with each other and will continue to provide for us. We are so grateful that God brought two people from different sides of the globe together to love each other and ultimately to serve him together. Above all, we have committed ourselves to God so that we can follow him all the days of our lives.
