Before meeting in 2016, Nick and Bree had a series of invisible strings. Though raised in Taunton, Nick moved to Fall River in 2004 just one street over from Bree's paternal grandparents. That summer, Bree temporarily moved into her grandmother's after a house fire at her childhood home. The neighborhood was full of other kids, and Bree made a few new friends that summer - including Nick's little sister. But she did not know Nick existed.

When she moved back into her childhood home, Nick's family relocated to North Main Street - just two blocks away. And when her family moved to Tiverton, Nick moved to the south end of Fall River, closer to the Tiverton town line. They were always close to each other, waiting, without even knowing it.

Which is funny that they eventually met, not in person, but online. Nick's opening line (pancakes vs. waffles - she made the wrong choice apparently) made her laugh, and he liked the reference to her Star Wars themed stuffed animal (a monkey named Obi-Mon Key-nobi - hilarious, right?). They didn't meet up for quite some time, as she was always busy wrapping up her senior year of college. Until one day, she was trying to get out of her house and asked if he was free for some ice cream.

Their first date took place in April 2016 at Somerset Creamery. They talked about the upcoming election (I know, right?) and their mutual love of nerd-y things. They watched an episode of Game of Thrones together. And they didn't even kiss.

But they kept seeing each other. Even after Bree had decided to go to grad school in California in August 2016 (though that didn't last too long). They were in love. She moved back to Massachusetts in January 2017. They moved in together in September 2017, adopted three animals, and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2024!
