Our Wedding

Our story begins the way any great story does... a girl and a boy walked into a bar. We met at our favorite local dive bar—shoutout to Instant Replay—and started hanging out as friends. Of course, we all know how that usually goes. But for Mike, the “friend stage” ended up lasting six months longer than he’d hoped. After asking Bri not once but twice to be his girlfriend (and her politely dodging the question both times), he wasn’t quite sure where this was headed.Everything changed on February 19, 2018, during a random adventure to the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey. That day, we made it official: boyfriend and girlfriend. From there, life turned into one big adventure. Together, we’ve explored science museums and amusement parks up and down the East Coast, hiked the Grand Canyon, jumped out of a plane together, camped with family and friends, fished the waters of Long Island, went to countless sporting events, and started our own traditions, like cutting down our Christmas tree each year. Mike learned to ski (and survived), and we’ve shared countless meals, laughs, and memories at restaurants and bars along the way.Then, on January 11, 2024, during a special dinner for Bri's 30th birthday, Mike got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Her response? A mix of “holy shit, holy shit, oh my god,” and finally... a “yes!” And here we are, ready to start the next chapter of our lives together.

Jillian has been by my side for as long as I can remember—literally! As lifelong neighbors of Coe Place, living just two doors apart, we’ve shared a bond that spans over 30 years of friendship. From our earliest days, cutting scraps of magazines planning our weddings, to countless dance recitals, and all of the major and minor of lives moments in between, Jillian has been a constant in my life. Her  friendship, support, (and the fashion tips), mean the world to me, and I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without her standing by my side.

Alec has been one of Mike’s closest friends since middle school, creating a friendship of 20+ years. From countless metal concerts and pro-wrestling events to life’s big milestones, Alec has been there through it all. Now known as “Uncle Mike” to Alec and Jess’ daughter, Keira, their friendship feels more like family. Alec’s level-headed nature and steady presence have always helped keep Mike grounded, making him the perfect choice to stand by his side as best man on our big day.

David holds a special place in our lives, having known us both individually long before we became a couple. David has been good friends with Bri since the beginning of high school and has shared over a decade memories with Mike from the firehouse. Throughout our relationship, David has been a constant supporter and honest friend, making him the perfect person to officiate our wedding.

For our out-of-state guests, getting to Poughkeepsie, NY, is easy! The nearest airports are Stewart International Airport (SWF), located just 30 minutes away, and the larger hubs of Westchester County Airport (HPN) and Albany International Airport (ALB), both within 1.5 hours. For those flying into New York City, JFK and LaGuardia airports are approximately 2 hours away by car or train. For our Long Islanders, the drive to Poughkeepsie typically takes about 2 hours(100 miles), from Huntington). Alternatively, you can consider taking the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to Penn Station, then connect to Metro-North’s Hudson Line for a scenic 1.5-hour train ride to Poughkeepsie. The journey offers stunning views of the Hudson River and is an enjoyable way to travel!

A 1.28-mile pedestrian bridge that spans the Hudson River, providing stunning views of the river and surrounding landscape. It’s one of the longest elevated pedestrian bridges in the world and offers an unforgettable perspective of the valley. We had an incredible time and the views are worth it! Keep your eyes out for our venue. (If Lynn Calby can do it...so can you!)
