Brianna and Jordan had first met at a game night the summer of 2020 held by Kyla. Jordan instantly fell in love. Unfortunately for him, Brianna was taken at the time. That did not stop him from attempting to flirt with her. Brianna did not entertain this idea and turned him down.
Their paths came together again when Dayton invited Jordan and Kyla invited Brianna to another get together. This time they were both single and Brianna made the first move. After this fateful weekend Brianna started texting Jordan first and they communicated constantly. Jordan instantly fell in love and asked Brianna out early March. Brianna said no. She wanted to move slowly.
They continued to talk and see each other until Jordans charms started to work and Brianna asked Jordan out. Of course Jordan said yes!
They started to spend everyday talking on the phone and texting. Brianna moved from Ile Des Chenes to Steinbach and Jordan drove everyday from either Oakbank or Winnipeg to see her. Their love blossomed and grew faster than ever.
August 2021 they bought their very first home together! They didn't care what people thought about buying a house together after 5 months of dating. All they knew is that they were deeply, madly in-love with each other and wanted to start building their dream life together (they also got a great deal in a gorgeous house).
By September 17, 2021 they were fully moved in together. Brianna started working at Richer Daycare and Jordan joined the Richer Fire Department. Making not only the house, but the town their home. Most people called Brianna, Jordans wife, and called Jordan, Brianna's Husband. They never corrected people knowing one day that will be true.
August 06, 2021 Jordan proposed to Brianna at the lake. Brianna of course said yes!
We knew that we wanted to buy a house together but we had anticipated buying a house 3 or 4 years into our relationship. In our spare time it was still fun to dream and plan what we wanted our first house to look like.
Our first twist of fate happened when a few of Jordans friends started to buy land and convinced him to purchase a plot as well. At the time we knew we wanted to be together for the long haul; so we started to make decisions based on our future together. We decided to lowball an offer together, buy the land and build on it in 2-3 years (no rush). They denied our offer and we took that as a sign that it wasn't meant to be.
We still had fun looking at houses, loosely planning our future. We had looked at a house in Ste. Anne, gaining some ideas for what we wanted. One particularly gloomy day we decided to look at a house in Richer. We had planned ahead to look at this house but when the afternoon came, we were both very tired. Jordan had seen the pictures and really wanted to see the interior but agreed that it wasn't a rush to see it. We made an excuse to the real estate agent that a family emergency had come up. The real estate agent was very convincing and convinced us to come see it anyways.
Neither of us had even heard of the town 'Richer' as they drove in, Brianna felt nervous seeing the graveyard right across the street from the house. We proceeded anyways.
As we entered the house we fell in love. It was everything we were dreaming of. Big master-bedroom with an on-site for Jordan and a dishwater for Brianna.
We really wanted a house inspection before purchasing but, the real estate agent assured us that the roof is newer, the house isn't that old, and if we didn't make an offer tonight we would lose the house (we do not recommend this real estate agent).
We came to a descision that night. We would put in an offer that night and if we don't get it, then its fate (there were 2 others who had supposedly already put an offer on the house). The next day we received the exciting news that our offer was accepted and we had won against the three other people by $500.
To this day we both agree this was one of the best decisions we have made together.
Although we have dealt with a leaking roof, broken water softener, and a sump pump replacement. We have made new amazing friends, volunteered and worked in the community and ultimately started building our roots into a place we call home. We could not have done it without the amazing help of Jordan's parents who has been by our side through it all. They may have thought their son was a little crazy buying a house with his girlfriend of 5 months but they still supported him through it all!
