It’s a tale as old as time, the most cliche country song lyric in the book, “A guy walks into a bar.” On May 18, 2019 this is exactly what happened.&nbsp;My North Shore crew was debating whether to venture out to Riverhead Ciderhouse or Great South Bay Brewery for a casual Saturday brewery hang.&nbsp;Ultimately they decided to try someplace new and headed down to Great South Bay.&nbsp;I walked in and immediately noticed a ping pong table, with thoughts on how to hustle unsuspecting victims flooding my mind.&nbsp;Years of developing ping pong prowess while playing against my dad in the basement prepared me precisely for this moment.&nbsp;A handsome, charismatic man was competitively playing against his friend, and Pat Doris convinced me to coyly request to have a go at the next game. Bobby and Brad proceeded to introduce themselves and promised to take it easy on me, because of course a girl could never compete on the athletic landscape that is, a ping pong table. To the surprise of no one, except my competitors, I ultimately reigned supreme.&nbsp;Bobby claims to this day that, “He took it easy on me because he thought I was cute.” The truth of that statement has been brought into question over the years; but I’ll let the numerous subsequent ping pong wins I have under my belt speak for themselves.&nbsp; The night continued with more games (Jumbo Jenga) and sports bets being placed on the equestrian competitors of the Preakness race.&nbsp;Just as I had undeniable prowess as it relates to ping pong, Bobby showcased his predilection, and surprising acumen for sports gambling.&nbsp;His selected horse won the race, and to celebrate the win, he bought a round of Jameson drinks. Brad, Bobby, and I cheered, and rather than take an immediate sip, I continued to small talk.&nbsp;The first red flag of the night!&nbsp;Bobby made a comment, basically denoting that not drinking to a cheers is a cardinal sin; but thankfully he excused this careless mistake.&nbsp;We temporarily parted ways for the night, as I sat on the other side of the bar and Bobby chatted with what can only be considered as new potential suitors. I talked to Alyssa and Ashley about how that short-lived banter and flirting was fun, secretly bummed about how it had prematurely ended. I surprised myself, as I was so quick to dismiss my shallowness about height for this stranger I had just met; there was just something incredibly endearing about him. Almost as if he heard my inner monologue, Bobby shot me a charming glance and I unassumingly waved back.&nbsp;He sauntered back over to me and our effortless conversation picked up right where it left off, with a, “Hey, how’s it going?.” We were attached at the hip for the rest of the night, and my friends approached me with the proposition to head back to our regular Saturday night haunt, the streets of Patchogue. However, Bobby had other plans.&nbsp;He introduced us to the lively town of Babylon and the good times continued to roll, ultimately culminating in a first kiss between Bobby and I at the Local. While Bobby explicitly stated from the get go that he was not in the market for a serious girlfriend, we continued to get to know each other over the summer of 2019.&nbsp;Some may say my resilience and perseverance eventually wore him down, but others would say that we mutually fell in love.&nbsp;Bias may cloud my judgment, but I like to think that the latter is correct. These past 5 years have been filled with countless competitive sports teams, numerous trips and mileage expended between the North and South Shore, and ultimately the forging of a beautiful relationship between two people whose diverse personalities surprisingly complement each other beautifully.&nbsp;We feel incredibly grateful for our serendipitous meeting at a Long Island bar, and for our relationship that we have been lovingly cultivating since we have met. Anyone who knows Bobby knows that he has placed many bets in life; comparatively my gambles are a bit more scant, but unequivocally my best gamble was taking a chance on him.&nbsp; So just as the first kiss between strangers was had, the first kiss as Mr. and Mrs will also take place in Babylon. Revisiting the town where our love commenced just felt apropos to our love story.&nbsp;As Bobby always swore he would, he made a South Shore girl out of me.&nbsp;I apologize to all my North Shorers who have to traverse the island to celebrate our love, but we can guarantee the party will be worth it!&nbsp;See you all at the Piermont on 10/24/25! #loveyouLangtime

If you are looking for something to do in between the ceremony and the cocktail hour, Babylon has no shortage of local restaurants/bars to check out. Listed below are a few we personally recommend: The Locale: Back in May of 2019, this is the spot where we shared our first kiss. If you really want to experience a full Bobby and Brianna day, what better place to stop at than at our relationship's place of inception. Molto Vino: Looking for a delicious sangria, look no further. I bet they'll even come up with some delicious fall concoction in October. The Pizzeria of Babylon: While we can guarantee you will be fed to your heart's content at the reception, this pizzeria offers a vast variety of slices to munch on. Del Fuego: I am a sucker for a margarita, and the margarita menu at Del Fuego is quite expansive. Also, they offer unlimited free chips and salsa! Barrique: This dimly lit restaurant has an ambiance similar to that of a cool and sophisticated speakeasy. They have a delicious charcuterie board that would be great to snack on.
