It all began on an ordinary day in February 2023 at San Antonio MEPS, where I was working and he was beginning his journey in the Army. Fate had a funny way of bringing us together—he overheard that I was a dance instructor and found a reason to start a conversation. In that brief moment, something sparked between us. I gave him my number, hoping for the best, but after two long days without a word, I started to think maybe it wasn’t meant to be. Then, out of the blue, his text came—and with it, the beginning of something extraordinary.

He drove 2.5 hours from Corpus Christi to pick me up for our first date at Top Golf, and from the moment we saw each other, it was as if the world disappeared. We talked, we laughed, and in those few hours, something undeniable took root. That night, we both felt a connection so fiery, so intense, that we knew it was only the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

But love, like life, is never without its challenges. The Army called, and for a time, we were separated by distance. Yet, in that space, our hearts grew even closer. We wrote letters, pouring our thoughts and emotions onto paper, holding on to every chance we had to see each other. Each reunion felt like coming home. Through every mile, every day apart, we knew this love was worth fighting for.

A year later, we took a leap of faith and chose each other. I left San Antonio to be by his side in Alabama, knowing that our hearts had already found their home. Since then, we’ve grown together in ways I never could have imagined. We’ve shared countless moments of laughter, tears, and joy, discovering deeper layers of love with every step we take.

And now, the Army is guiding us to a new adventure in Alaska. With the northern skies above us, we’ll continue building our life together, stronger and more in love than ever before.
