As I sit here, reminiscing about our journey together, I can't help but smile at the memories that flood my mind. It feels like it was just yesterday when Bri and I first crossed paths in AP Calculus during our high school years. I was a senior, she was a junior, and little did I know how that encounter would shape our lives.


From the moment we became friends, there was something about Bri that captivated me. Her sweet and gentle nature was unlike anything I had ever encountered before. Even as I left for college, we managed to stay in touch, keeping our friendship alive.


It was during the first Thanksgiving break of my college years when I returned home, and our connection was instantly rekindled. We spent hours together, watching movies and catching up on life. It felt natural and effortless, as if time had never passed between us.


Winter break arrived, and Bri ventured up to my cabin to join me and my family skiing. On December 30, 2013, we officially began dating.


As life moved forward, Bri embarked on her college journey. She completed her first year at Northern Michigan University but later transferred to the University of Iowa, “coincidentally” where I was studying as well. Being together at the same university made our bond even stronger.


Together, we navigated the challenges and triumphs of college. We celebrated our graduation from the University of Iowa, and while I ventured into the world of construction management, Bri was accepted into the prestigious Carver School of Medicine at Iowa.


Although our careers have taken us in different directions, we remain steadfast in our commitment to each other. We are each other's best friends, confidants, and pillars of support. In December of 2020, I asked Bri to marry me, and we eagerly await the day we say “I do”.


Our story is a love story, defined by friendship, trust, and unwavering devotion. I can confidently say that I love Bri more than anything in this world, and I know she feels the same. Together, we have faced challenges and triumphs, always keeping each other in check, and supporting one another. We are lifelong partners, and I am grateful every day that our paths crossed all those years ago.
