Do I need to stay at the resort?

YES! Please refer to the travel page to use the link for booking in order to abide by our group contract and get the group rate. https://www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/meetings-and-events/weddings/bridget-and-matthew-wedding Make sure it has the promo code "brinmatt" and select grand palladium Vallarta resort and spa for hotel. It's under Mexico, Riviera Nayarit.

How do I get to the Grand Palladium Vallarta from the airport?

The resort is about 20 miles (31.9 km) from the Puerto Vallarta airport. The resort does have a shuttle system - information can be found in the fine print of your booking email. Additionally, groups can book a shuttle through a private company or there are several shuttle options directly outside of the airport. The bride and groom opted to use a taxi from the Puerto Vallarta airport- we crossed the street using the sky bridge and found better rates across from the airport.

Should I sit through the information presentation offered at check-in for credits that can be used at the hotel?

NO. As soon as you get your wristband from the front desk, tell the sales person "No, thank you." Go to your room, put on a swimsuit, go grab a margarita, and come hang out with us by the pool after you get settled.

Can I bring extra people/kids?

While they are welcome to stay with you at the resort, due to limited space, only those that are included in your RSVP on the website may attend the wedding and reception. No plus ones unless the RSVP says there is a plus one for your party, please.

Is Mexico safe?

The state of Jalisco is currently a travel 3 advisory, however, the resort is located in Nayarit which is a level 2. This means practicing basic safety precautions such as not traveling at night (especially alone), not wearing flashy/expensive looking clothing or accessories, and being aware of your surroundings when outside the resort. Please also be polite, "no, gracias." is a complete sentence. The resort is gated and both of us felt very safe for our entire trip in December, 2023.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

We are having a beach wedding, so semi-casual wear is completely appropriate (dress shorts, short sleeved button-down shirts, slacks, sundresses, etc.) We do kindly request not wearing swimwear or swimwear cover-ups and absolutely no jorts.

Should I bring cash?

We recommend bringing cash for tips to the staff as well as a cab or shuttle ride from the airport to the resort. We were able to use both American dollars and Mexican pesos. Please be sure to securely place your cash in your bag, and practice basic safety precautions by not pulling out your entire stack of cash when making a payment, or doing so discreetly.

Do I need a passport?

YES! Please make sure your passport is up-to-date and not expired. Some airlines may not allow you to fly if your passport is expiring within 6 months of your flight. Obtaining a passport or passport renewals can take time, so please try to initiate before March in order to receive it in time for the wedding.
