Bridget and I had gone to UNL and to the Newman Center for two years but had never met until we went on a trip to Italy for spring break in 2023. We spent nearly every moment together on that trip, traveling through the stunning Italian countryside, walking the footsteps of the saints, and marveling at some of the most beautiful artwork the faith has produced. Italy is a very romantic place.

I asked her out about a month after we got back into the U.S. and we started dating shortly after. Since then, we have become amateur kite flyers.
