Things to Do

Estes Park Riverwalk

Picture of Estes Park Riverwalk
500 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517
970-577-9900

Both Fall River and the Big Thompson River flow along the backside of Elkhorn Avenue, Estes Park’s main street, and is lined with trees, an easy-to-traverse path, wall art and mural-covered utility boxes painted by local artists. Mom and pop shops offer access to their wares from Riverwalk entrances. It is cooler on this side of Elkhorn and more musical too: trees provide refreshing shade and the sound of the water is soothing in its rush downstream.

That path is about a mile in total, running from the parking structure to Performance Park. At Performance Park rest your tired feet in the river and check out the natural climbing wall behind the amphitheater before turning around for the return trip.

How to get there

Park at the free parking structure and seek out the sound of Fall River’s rushing water to the north of the structure then walk west, toward town, along it. Cross the bridge that comes up on your right and continue west along the river. You’ll pass a bronze veteran memorial on your left and then come to a fork in the path. Veer left and toward the underpass and you’re on your way!

OUR STORY AND MISSION

We are a family run ATV rental and Jeep rental company in Estes Park Colorado.

Growing up in the mountains of Estes Park Colorado, riding dirt bikes, ATV’s, banged up old Jeeps and green broke horses, I knew early on where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. After working as a wrangler in Estes Park, I realized how much I loved working in the tourism business. I raised my daughter in the mountains offering her the same values my father taught me.

Today, you’ll find myself, my daughter, or my wife working the trail or in the shop. My parents also help with the business from time to time, and everyone that works here is considered family. We love what we do, the people, each other, and the good times. I hope you’ll come enjoy them with us, I promise you’ll never forget it.

Unlike so many others in the ATV rental businesses, we do it because we love it, and love the people we meet from all over the country and around the world. This is not a cash cow for us. I enjoy investing every penny back into the business so we can provide the very best customer service, experience, and highest quality ATV's money can buy. Check out our reviews on Trip Advisor and Google. You'll see what people love about us and that we care about ALL of our customers.

We don't use bait and switch tactics. The pictures you see on this website are of our actual machines, riders, and trails.

Fort Collins Rafting Trips & Estes Park Rafting Trips on the Cache La Poudre River

Whitewater rafting vacations on Colorado’s only “Wild and Scenic River”

Mountain Whitewater is proud to have a special use permit from the Roosevelt National Forest. The permit guidelines keep river use low so that the Cache La Poudre (pronounced poo-dur) delivers an exceptional wilderness rafting experience. In fact, many Coloradoans consider it the best canyon and river in Colorado. Check out the Poudre page to find out how special Colorado’s only “Wild and Scenic” river really is, or just book a Fort Collins rafting or Estes Park rafting adventure and find out for yourself.

Conveniently located only about 80 minutes from Denver and Estes Park, the Poudre offers some of the closest, most exciting, and still somewhat unknown, whitewater rafting in the state. The river starts in the snow-capped peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, then twists, turns, and tumbles through cliffs and rock spires. Its almost continuous class II, III, and IV rapids keep your adrenaline flowing. The chances to see eagles, deer, moose, black bear, mink and bighorn sheep will keep your eyes open.

Mountain Whitewater uses state-of-the-art rafting equipment and employs the most experienced group of guides on the river.

This is what whitewater rafting is all about in Colorado! Fun – Rapids – Scenery – Team Building – Excitement – Adventure – Family – Memories – Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The Barrel prides itself in being a one-in-a-million beer drinking experience. In 2015, we came up with the idea to open a bar inside of a storage container, and created, The Barrel.

Now located permanently at 251 Moraine Ave. in Estes Park, we kept to the tradition of the container bar, but added an indoor beer hall. We rotate 64 craft-beer taps throughout the Summer in the outdoor container bar, and 25 taps in the Beer Hall during the winter. We also serve non-alcoholic beverages, craft cider and mead, and high-end spirits and wines. If that doesn’t already sound too-good-to-be-true, you can even bring your dog along all year-round! Although we don’t make food here, we have some tasty snacks on our menu as well as onsite food trucks. You can bring in your own food, or order some in! Make sure to check-out our events calendar for a variety of live music and family-fun entertainment.
