Zakk and Bridget met through the father of Bridget's sons. Both Zakk and the boys' dad attended the same class, and Zakk would give him rides to and from class and every once in a while come in and hang out for a bit, only seeing Bridget in passing. Zakk was also the one to film Bridget's gender reveal for her youngest son, Broly. It wasn't until a couple of years later that they would see each other again at school during drop off and pick up since their kids were in the same grade and were in each other's buddy class.

After both Zakk and Bridget had separated from their kids' parents, they took some time to be single, and then one day, Bridget sent Zakk a friend request on fb. To her surprise, Zakk accepted. Only a couple hours later, Bridget received a message from Zakk cracking a joke which lead to them conversating everyday before Zakk got up the nerve to invite Bridget out for coffee after they both dropped kids off at school, which Bridget accepted. They met at Jump start on a Tuesday morning to find out that Zakk does not like either tea or coffee, so he respectfully declined anything but still took the time to get to know Bridget. They both sat there the entire school day talking and getting to know one another only to find out their stories were almost identical. It was an instant connection.

Zakk and Bridget shared their first kiss on a Tuesday. They had spent a couple of hrs together every day, getting to know each other even more. Conversations came so easy at this point. Zakk had locked eyes on Bridget's, with a look of deep thought when he put his hand on the back of her neck, pulling her to him and gently kissing her. After almost a year of dating and living together, Zakk knew Bridget was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He reached out to Bridget's daughter Natalie and asked for her blessing and approval, which Natalie happily agreed and offered to help plan. Zakk picked out the perfect ring after listening to little comments made by Bridget of what she liked. Zakk and Natalie had made a plan that they would all go for a walk in a park with the dogs and Zakk and Bridget would have their picture taken together except instead it would be Natalie filming the proposal........ well, that didn't happen.

The day Zakk had the ring, he hid it with this plan in mind, but his nerves and anxiety were eating at him all day. By the end of the night they were laying in bed together doing their usual "I love you" "I love you more" "No you dont" disagreement when Zakk finally replied "don't make me prove it to you" with a challenge like that Bridget responded "Prove it then" Zakk got out of bed, walked to the hiding spot where he had the ring and pulled it out, got down on one knee and asked Bridget to be his wife. Of course, she said yes.
