Jack and Bridget's story began in 2021 when Bridget transferred to the University of Illinois and merged into Jack’s group through mutual friends. With only a few weeks left in Champaign, they ended up in a few pictures together during a night out at KAMS. Jack, eager for the chance to reach out, used those photos as the perfect excuse to get in touch with Bridget! During their next couple of nights out with friends, Jack showed his interest by treating Bridget to some late-night Taco Bell and Fat Sandwich (how romantic). They went from barely any one-on-one interactions to texting every day! And just like that, he was hooked (and so was she)!

How We Met

Their first date was on July 4th, 2022, and they made it official on August 13th, 2022. Despite the distance between them—Jack working in Madison, WI, and Bridget finishing her Junior and Senior years in Champaign, IL—they made it work. Many, many miles were driven, but each fun weekend trip strengthened their relationship and reminded them of why they were doing it!

Long Distance Relationship

After Bridget graduated in May 2024, she moved back home to Arlington Heights, IL, to start working. Now that they were half the distance apart, they got to spend even more time together. They went ring shopping together in July 2024, and Jack got to planning his surprise proposal!

Medium Distance Relationship

On November 16th, 2024, outside of Cooper's Hawk Winery &amp; Restaurant in South Barrington, IL, Jack got down on one knee and asked Bridget to marry him. Her answer? "Of course!" (Close enough to “yes,” right?). They celebrated the moment with family and friends at Buffalo Creek Brewery, and they've been busy wedding planning ever since. They're beyond excited to tie the knot in July and celebrate with all their favorite people (including you)!
