A Story of Bridgette & Tyler

Beginning:

Bridgette, born in Oshawa, Ontario, and Tyler, born in LaSalle, Quebec, both grew up with loving families and cherished friends who helped them grow into the people they are today. Thankfully, Tyler and his family moved to Ontario when he was very young to where he would eventually meet Bridgette.

Back in the Day:

Bridgette and Tyler would have met in Grade 5 at the age of 10 years old, and you might imagine they became fast friends and developed their relationship into the one many of you now know... however, you could not be more wrong. Out of the eight years they spent together in elementary and high school, the first seven of those years were spent as strangers, with nary a word spoken between them.

Young Love:

This all changed at the age of 17 when Tyler's mom was out of town and he threw an impromptu party as teenagers do (Sorry Mom!). Bridgette, likely dragged to the party by her friend Delaney, decided to make an appearance and the two had their first real conversations with one another after so many years of just being acquaintances. Bridgette was captivated by Tyler's wit and Tyler was delighted by Bridgette's charm. Clearly they hit it off and here they are nine years later!

Separate Ways... But Not Really:

After high school, Bridgette headed off to the University of Guelph, and Tyler remained in Bowmanville. Although, they were hours apart, the two decided to make things official and began dating. Every other weekend they travelled back and forth between Guelph and Bowmanville and made the distance work for them.

The following year, Tyler decided to attend Brock University and the couple continued to visit each other on weekends, with every visit becoming more frequent and lengthy as time went on.

Tyler was the one with a vehicle, and Bridgette was the one with a more put together household. Due to this, most of their time was spent in Guelph, with Tyler considering himself an honorary Gryphon and Bridgette's personal chauffeur. Tyler was also kind enough to allow Bridgette to use his car as she pleased when he visited (even after she had it towed twice). But of course Bridgette re-paid Tyler with delicious home cooked meals every weekend.

This continued for years until the world shut down and they both returned to their hometown of Bowmanville. They both graduated virtually and both got real adult jobs.

New Life - New Family:

After a couple years living back in Bowmanville, the two decided it was time to get a place of their own. They spent months looking for houses alongside Bridgette's parents and found their first fixer upper in the shwa (Oshawa).

After some lengthy renovations (F@#% popcorn ceiling) and working hard create their first home together, they finally moved in! Here they started their little life and after a year they decided it was time for their little family to grow and they brought home the perfect little pal, Georgie McNicholl.

Proposal:

Bridgette and Tyler are a chaotic couple, and their engagement was no different. Tyler had set it up perfectly, a hired photographer with a scenic view and a good excuse to get Bridgette to the location without her knowing what was going on. All he had to do was get to the location, pretty straightforward, right? WRONG! Tyler (who blames the Uber driver), dropped them off at the wrong spot and what was supposed to be a quick 2 minute walk to the location turned into a 30 minute hike, that consisted of hopping fences, walking through a forest up a mountain in the muddiest of conditions (not to mention while in heels). They finally got to their location and Bridgette who had just about lost it on Tyler had a rapid change of emotions as he got down on one knee and popped the question.

The Present and the Future:

That about sums it up, and here we are today! Who knows what the future will hold, but if anything can be certain it's that the future will be full of adventures, fun, love, and a little bit of chaos on the side!

And that is the end of our story for now!
