When should I arrive?

This is up to you! We plan to arrive on June 11 in order to be well rested for the Welcome Party on June 12. We would love for all guests to be able to attend both the Welcome Party and Wedding.

No, as of 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.

Should I rent a car?

Transportation will be provided to/from all wedding day events. While the decision to rent a car for transportation to/from the airport and other destinations is up to you, we advise against this as it is stressful to drive in the city and there is limited parking.

Does Porto have Uber and/or Lyft?

Porto has Uber, but not Lyft. However, we recommend downloading the ride-share app, "Bolt." Bolt is extremely popular in Porto. The rides are cheaper than Uber, and it is much easier to connect to drivers.

What are some essentials to pack for Porto?

1. Universal Travel Adapter- This is important as the outlets are different than in the US. 2. Comfortable walking shoes- Porto's old town is full of cobblestone streets and hills! 3. Sweater/Cardigan- Evenings can be chilly.

June in Porto is generally warm and reasonably dry, with occasional light showers. The average high is around 74 degrees and the average low is around 58 degrees.

Will my phone work?

Yes, make sure to contact your phone company to check your international coverage options. This will ensure you select the most affordable option. Alternatively, you can purchase an international eSIM card.

What is the currency?

The currency in Porto is the Euro. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but we recommend carrying a small amount of cash for cash-only stores and tipping. If you bring US Dollars, you can exchange these for Euros at Sao Bento station without an interest rate. Sao Bento station is also a popular tourist attraction, as it is beautiful and in the center of town. Be sure to let your bank know you're traveling to avoid any card blocks.
