We grew up in the same hometown of Marietta, GA and went to the same church growing up at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. Although we knew who the other was, we were a year apart and never really got to know each other. Fast forward a few years into college at UGA and this is where the real story begins...

What started off as a distant crush turned into a genuine opportunity in March of 2018. Chris had been planting the seed slowly over the course of a few months, casually responding to Instagram stories of hers and asking her roommate if she was single. Finally, Brighton took the hint with recommendations from her Maid of Honor, Hannah (thanks Hannah), and invited him on a date night for her sorority via Snapchat (yes, you read that right). That Chi Omega semi formal date night was the beginning of their love story.

Chris-

Brighton was always that girl that I would see on social media and think to myself "this girl is beautiful inside and out and I could see myself ending up with a girl like her", never thinking that I would get the opportunity to actually date her. I loved the way she carried herself with grace and showed her love for Jesus unashamedly in all walks of her life. However, what I did not know, is that getting to know her made me feel like (to quote my favorite movie Good Will Hunting) God put an Angel on Earth just for me. These past 3 years of dating have been the happiest years of my life. I fall more in love with her daily. She embodies everything I could have possibly imagined in a future wife. Marrying her will be the honor of my lifetime. I love you Brighton. I cannot wait to hold hands and run alongside Jesus together for the rest of our lives and I will always be grateful that He blessed me with my best friend to be my forever companion.

Brighton-

When Chris and I first spent time together on that silent disco date night, I remember thinking, "Well, dang it." You see, I had fully convinced myself that I was not in a place to enter into a relationship with anyone. There's a saying that goes, "it only takes the right person to come along and change everything." Chris was that person for me─my person. The one that God placed in my life at exactly the right time. He is the kind of man who would lasso the moon and bring it down to me if I really needed it. From the beginning, he has never let me even question the lengths that he would go to for me or where I stand with him. With him being a words of affirmation guy, I've always known exactly how he feels about me. That's one of the qualities in him that I admire and love most. Having only really spent time with me once on the date night, he told me he liked me and wanted to take me on a date two days later. He has kept that same level of transparency with me throughout our entire 3 year relationship, and it's because of that transparency, selfless love and service that I know without a doubt that I can trust him with my whole heart. To be someone that he considers near and dear is the biggest blessing because he loves his people well. He is one of a kind, a leader, a man with a heart that craves the presence of Jesus, and my best friend. Every prayer that I have given to God has led me to you, and I can't wait to be your wife and spend the rest of our lives together. I love you Chris.
