How It All Began – A Love Only God Could Have Written Our story is one that could only be written by the Lord Himself—unexpected, beautifully timed, and full of His perfect plan. One ordinary day, I was scrolling through Snapchat when I saw a name that stood out. It wasn’t like me to add guys first (seriously, I never do), but something about his name caught my eye. It shared the same last name as one of the main characters from my favorite show, Gossip Girl. I couldn’t resist—I added him and asked, half-jokingly, “Are you related?” He replied with a laugh, “Yeah, that’s my cousin,” and just like that, something clicked. From that first message, it felt different—natural, light, and yet deeply significant. We talked, we laughed, and somehow, even through a screen, I just knew: this could be something special. When we decided to go on our first date, he showed up with flowers in hand. Since that day, I haven’t opened a single door for myself. He’s been intentional, thoughtful, and truly everything I didn’t know I needed. God knew the desires of my heart, even the ones I hadn’t spoken out loud. Now, here we are—planning forever. We are so excited to get married and continue walking through life together, hand in hand and with full hearts, trusting the One who brought us together in the most unexpected and perfect way. Because when God writes your love story, it’s more beautiful than anything you could have imagined.

Every bride needs a sister like mine—crazy in the best way, fiercely loyal, and always ready to bring the energy (and a little chaos) wherever she goes. Whether she’s making everyone laugh until they cry or hyping up the dance floor, she’s the heart of every room she walks into. She’s not just my sister—she’s my built-in best friend, my biggest supporter, and the one who’s probably crying and screaming during our vows. I wouldn’t want to do this day without her

From late-night talks to early-morning coffee runs, she’s been my rock, my cheerleader, and now, my bridesmaid. I couldn’t imagine this day—or my life—without her by my side.

Okay, so technically she’s my niece… but with only two years between us, it’s always felt more like having a built-in little sister and best friend rolled into one. She’s fun, fierce, and knows me better than most. From inside jokes to nonstop laughs, we’ve basically grown up side by side—and I couldn’t imagine this day without her right there with me!

Karlee’s been bossing me around (lovingly) since forever—and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s the cousin who gives main character energy, keeps the group chat alive, and somehow always knows what’s going on before anyone else does. She’s part big sister, part bestie, and 100% the reason I’ve survived half my crazy life. Couldn’t do this day without her!

She’s smart, funny, and always keeps it real. From day one, she welcomed me like family and made me feel right at home. Watching how much she loves and supports her brother has been so special—and now I’m lucky to call her my sister too. So excited to keep making memories together

Vera Kate has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I am so grateful to have her standing by my side as a bridesmaid. She has always been such a loyal, supportive, and caring friend, and I truly can’t imagine this day without her. The hotel is 10 minutes from the venue. To secure your reservation, please call the hotel directly and mention the Thornton Rutherford Wedding.
