In 2021, Jack and Brigitte both found themselves living in Wilmington, Delaware. Brigitte, a proud Delaware native, had moved home from Philadelphia to complete her clinical rotations while in medical school at Jefferson. Jack, having just graduated from Emory Law, relocated for a job in corporate bankruptcy. Though raised in Maryland, Jack’s ties to Delaware ran deep — his father grew up in Wilmington, and Jack returned each year to celebrate Christmas at the DuPont Country Club with his grandparents, Doc and Maimi, and his extended family.

Amidst all this shared history, it was a modern twist of fate — a swipe on Hinge — that brought them together.

Their first date was at Le Cavalier downtown, where conversation flowed easily and sparks quietly flew. A few days later, they met again at the Charcoal Pit on Concord Pike, sharing a black and white milkshake. It didn’t take long for both of them to know something special was unfolding.

In the spring of 2024, Jack surprised Brigitte with a trip to Italy. One evening in Florence, after a gentle rain had cleared, the clouds parted just in time for sunset. Standing on a quiet terrace overlooking the Arno River, bathed in golden light, Jack asked Brigitte to marry him — and she said yes.
