We met on the train ten years ago

quite a long time

I'll tell you how...

The train was delayed

we waited a while

I looked at her and she gave me a smile

She looked once again and said "hello" to me

I felt a little nervous and thought 'she said hello to me'.

The train finally came and we sat next to each other

We started to talk

not just about the weather

all the way into town

The time really flew

She said "I've seen you before" and I said "I've seen you too"

That went on and on

week after week

we got to know each other

It was easy to speak.

After two years, our friendship really grew

I could tell she liked me

and

she could tell I liked her too.

On one nice New England summer day

we went out to lunch

romantic feelings were there.

It's been ten years now and we are still together

We finally said "let's make this forever"

I asked for her hand and she said "yes".

We are getting married in July

I think you could guess

we'll be husband and wife

in front of family and friends
