Clayton & Briley met back in 2017 while they were still in high school at East Lawrence. Clayton was a junior and Briley was a sophomore. They began dating October 24, 2017 and they have been together ever since.

The summer after Clayton graduated and before Briley began her senior year their relationship began to be long distance for a few years. Clayton went off to Marine Corps bootcamp for 3 months in July 2019. He got finished with his all of his training and returned home April 2020. Briley was soon to be graduating high school and starting college in August 2020. They stayed long distance with seeing each other on the weekends for 2 more years. When Briley was almost finished with college they thought their long distance was finally finished, until Clayton found out he was being deployed for 9 months. He left on deployment in September of 2022. When Clayton returned home April 2023 they was finally done with long distance. Clayton proposed shortly after returning home on May 6, 2023.
