Our story began in 2010, an Arlington High School senior baseball boy lost his school ID and a sophomore soccer girl found it. He stopped me in the middle of the hall to ask for his ID and my phone number, pulled out his flip phone, and the rest is history 🥰
We are each other’s first true loves. He was my high school sweetheart. Back then, we would write sweet love notes to each other and put them in places we would later find. One day while he was at baseball practice, I left a note on his old brown 1985 Chevy pickup truck named “Dixie”. In colorful chalk paint, I wrote the Dixie Chick lyric “Cowboy Take Me Away” with a heart beside it. And he sure did!
Skyler asked me to his senior prom in April 2011, he got down on one knee and pulled out a Ring Pop. This is one of our favorite memories, truly God’s foreshadowing to our future.
Skyler graduated Arlington High in 2011 where he signed to play baseball and attend Rice University, he was then drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2014. Brittany graduated from AHS in 2013 and went on to attend Texas Tech and graduated in 2017.
We always kept in touch over the years, never missing a birthday or a holiday to reach out to one another. Then, St Patrick’s Day 2021, the luckiest day of the year and luckiest day of my life; Skyler asked me on a date. 10 years later, the hs sweethearts "what if" turned into our special love story. God’s timing for us had aligned in the most perfect and patient way.
On a rainy and romantic date night, Skyler popped the big question on May 6th, 2023. He got down on one knee, pulled the ring box out of his boot and it was the BEST moment of our lives!!
Our first and forever love story 🤍
We feel truly blessed and we can’t wait to celebrate with all of our people on February 24th 2024!
