Our Wedding

The Bride's Perspective:Clinton and I are a Tinder success story. He asked me on our first date to Zydeco Kitchen (an upscale, classy restaurant.) The wait was long so I asked him if he wanted to kill time at JC's Bar and Grill (a dive bar.) We played giant Jenga and he let me win at connect four. We laughed all night till the last table left at Zydeco. A few months went by and before you know it I was meeting his roommates/lifelong friends (Alex and Kai, both Groomsmen.) When I introduced myself to Alex he stated that he was happy to meet Clint's future wife. I laughed it off thinking maybe this guy is crazy, we aren't even boyfriend and girlfriend. Clint made it through his first fire season with me (being a firefighter often takes its toll on relationships.) I was sent on hurricane relief and was away the whole summer and well into fall. We spent many nights on the phone wishing we were together. When I got back we went to concerts, movies, and had countless fun date nights. Nearly a year later, I agreed to move in with him under one condition... I wanted us to live by ourselves. He suggested living the vanlife, an easy sell for me since we both share a love for nature, the outdoors, and adventure. So we built a van together. He used his carpenter skills and I used my decorating skills. The van was symbolic of our new life of adventure together. We have traveled around the US together and are coming up on our fourth year living vanlife. Every day together we have learned to love and accept each other even through the smelly van farts and freezing Bend winters. I knew he was the one after my grandpa got diagnosed with Alzheimer's and he stepped up to the plate. He is not only there for me but also helps my grandmother around the house, emotionally and physically. He has been one of the greatest blessings to my family. Groom's Perspective:After moving to Bend in December 2016, I created a Tinder profile to meet new people. Brittany and I matched, so I asked her out on our first date early March to Zydeco in Downtown Bend. She insisted we meet there (in case I was a nutcase.) As I was waiting nervously outside the restaurant, I saw her walk around the corner and I almost literally jumped for joy. She looked absolutely stunning. We were there pretty early, so she suggested we go to one of her favorite bars to have a drink and play some games. We had a great time that night and I knew I couldn't let it be our last date. We spent very little time together that summer due to her fire job keeping her away, but that time was spent over the phone anytime she got service. After about a year of dating, we talked about our future and decided to build a van and live together as full-time "van lifers". This move, along with our love for adventure and nature, made our relationship stronger than I could've even imagined. We have travelled all over the Western US and spent many long hours on the road finding the next greatest place. From struggles to pure joy, she has been my rock when I need grounding and my wings to make me fly.

The Proposal: Groom's PerspectiveAfter asking Mr. Budenholzer for his daughter's hand in marriage, I asked Mrs. Bud if she would like to join me in picking the perfect ring. We went to a family friend and jeweler, Mali, where she had many rings ready for us to pick from. I had "the perfect plan" where I was going to ask Brittany since we had already been planning a trip to Thailand. A week before we were supposed to leave, COVID restricted travel to Asia. So, we decided New Zealand it was! Jokes on us! COVID hit harder and restricted all international travel. After numerous failed travel plans, we decided to road trip around Eastern Oregon and Northern California to get away from people as much as possible. After my nerves got the best of me at Mann Lake in the Steen's Mountains, I had to wait for the next best spot to propose. I finally found my courage and asked her on this beautiful overlook near a hotspring in Fields, OR. Words cannot express my excitement now that I get to call her my Fiancé and soon my Wife. Bride's Perspective:We had a trip planned to Thailand that was cancelled due to COVID so we pivoted the plan to New Zealand which was also canceled. Little did I know these trips were where Clint was planning to propose. After several plans failing he took me out to a remote place in eastern Oregon where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. He told me he remembered the moment he first saw me round the corner to meet him at Zydeco and that in that moment he knew one day he would marry me. He was right and now I get to have my hiking, puzzling, adventure buddy everyday of my life.

About the GroomClinton is a man from many places but primarily spent his time in Lake Ozark, MO. After graduating high school he managed at PacSun for a bit then decided to join the military. He was stationed in England and was able to explore all around Europe. After separating from the military, he started flight school in Bend, OR. After cruising through his ratings he became a CFII and taught others how to become pilots. He currently flies an Embraer-175 76 passenger jet for Horizon Air, a regional airline for Alaska Air Group. About the BrideBrittany grew up in San Diego, CA. After growing up in her childhood home, she attended college for a couple years then decided to move to Bend, OR to continue her education. After her first summer in Bend, she decided to become a Wildland Firefighter. She still works in the fire world as a dispatcher and spends her winters bartending and skiing. She graduated from OSU-Cascades with her degree in Forestry Nature Eco Adventure Tourism.

Clint and Britt love to dance the night away together. Clint is always one of the smoothest dancers on the dance floor!

We have been living in our van together since September 2018. We started out our adVANture by touring some of the United States.

The 7th Mountain bus leaves at 3 pm and will stop at LOGE and Mt. Bachelor Village as necessary. The Best Western bus leaves at 3:30 pm. We have a continuous shuttle from the venue back to the 7th Mountain and Best Western starting at 9 pm.

River rafting the Deschutes! This is a blast on the river!

You can as well rent tubes SUP through here.

Put in at Riverbend Park and put out is Drake Park. Rent a tube, bring a float or air mattress and do one of Bend's Iconic things. Float the river through town. This float is about a hour and half and goes right through town. For those of you that have been to Bend before there is a new addition to the river float-You can stay in the river and continue through the state-of-the-art Bend Whitewater Park. Bring some beer and a cooler or enjoy a nice day with the family. *Bride and Groom will be hosting a float at 12:00 on Thursday June 3rd... If you need to rent please go to Tumalo Creek and Kayak before 12:00*

Float the Deschutes River

Enjoy the beautiful views of the Deschutes National Forest by taking the Cascade Lake Highway. You can drive for miles by lakes and will eventually do a loop back to Bend. If you are looking for hikes or even just scenic stops this is a excellent choice close to town. You will need a parking pass that costs $5 a day or annual $30 for the year. You can purchase this at Powderhouse in Bend or at the Welcome Center. Benham Falls/Dillion Falls- Barley outside of town enjoy these beautiful waterfalls with just a short walk from the trailhead.Sparks Lake- Where our engagement pictures were taken. This is a wonderful place to hangout by the lake or take in the breathtaking views of Mt Bachelor, The Sisters and Broken Top.Elk Lake- Go have lunch at the lodge, rent a boat or go hangout on the lake shoreline.Devils Lake- Don't even need to get out of the car. Drive by and see this blue blue lake from the window or get out and enjoy a small walk around.Lucky Lake- 1.5 mile moderately steep hike through the three sisters wilderness to this beautiful lake. Bring your swim suit because you will want to take a dip.

Drive the Cascade Lake Highway

This is a great area that can be accessed by all. Go check out the tubes or just walk around and enjoy the scenery.

Jordan is a mother, a lover, and a strong woman. From high school photo buddies, to college roommates, to matching tattoos Britt and Jordan have experienced many monumental life moments together. "She is my Blair to my Serena" xoxo Gossip girl.

Ciara has always been the smartest gal in any room with beauty that'll knock anyone out. Ciara and Brittany have known each other since the second grade and were reunited in High School through club volleyball. They have been getting into trouble ever since. They went to each others dances, volleyball games, and had many sleepovers with endless poptarts while surviving the horrible teenage years together (even when she ate Britt's orange jello.)

Kristen is the funniest and wittiest person we are blessed to know.  Kristen and the Bride to be have been friends since 2006. She moved away for a bit but came back to finish out high school in 2011 making junior and senior the best years. Brittany and Kristen have spent their adult relationship backpacking some of the PNW, going to concerts, and visiting each other back and forth from Seattle to Bend.

They have been built-in best friends since we were in diapers. Many family reunions, beach days and family functions were made better because Brittany had Roxy there. Roxy's soul is vibrant and she brings the party wherever she goes, so watch for her on the dance floor. Roxy lives her dream life in NYC.

Britney Littlejohn is the cutest, littlest, sweetest thing you'll ever meet. Back when Britney was a freshman she went to a party that was Bride to be's house, they talked for a bit and were instantly friends. They are also known as Britt squared, or the dynamic duo. There will be many more long walks and Christmas cookie decorating parties in their future.

Jessica is Clint’s one and only sibling. They spent their childhood together and were practically inseparable. Throughout adulthood, they are always able to pick up where they left off. Jessica lives in Georgia where Clint got to spend a couple years and create some great memories. 

Jessica Sheppard

John and Clint met in high school. They quickly became friends after Clint's car broke down and they shared a ride, caused mayhem, and shared laughs everyday after school. After an attempt at to get into the same college they both worked at Pac Sun together.  Through thick and thin, John has always had the Groom to be's back and picked him up when he was down. When Clint decided to join the Air Force, John thought he was nuts but supported him and even joined him at the recruiter's office. Without John's support, Clint may not have followed through and wouldn't be where he is today.

Alex and Clint met in tech school in Virginia. They were soon stationed in England together where they travelled Europe and eventually moved in together in a village near the base.  After 3 years in the UK, they both got stationed in Georgia and were deployed to Afghanistan. After deciding to leave the military, they moved to Bend where Alex studied Biology at Oregon State University.

Kai and Clint met while stationed in England together where they travelled Europe with Alex, Trevor, and our other buddy, Matty. A year after moving to Georgia, Kai followed and moved in with Clint and Alex. Kai had the same plan of flying helicopters and left to military to join Clint and Alex on a road trip to move to Oregon. He helped Clint stay on track and excel throughout flight school and they both completed training and worked for the school.

Trevor and Clint met in tech school along with Alex. Being in the same class, they soon became friends. After receiving orders to England, their friendship grew while travelling Europe and working together. After 2 years, Trevor received orders to Arizona where he met his wife and soon moved home and finished school.

Stephen and Clint met at Fall Fest in Bend. Brittany pointed him out as he was also wearing KC Chiefs gear. They quickly became friends and watched every game together. His love for the outdoors and his dog Jetson, gave them a stronger friendship during the off season.

Landon is the youngest of the Budenholzer children. You may also have heard him referred to as cutie pie. The three Bud kids would play basketball in the front yard and Landon was always the last one to come in. After spending many years in New York he has made his way back to California.

Richie is the middle child, he and Brittany are only 18 months apart so they were always very close. Richie and Brittany spent many days at the park exploring, convincing Brittany to skateboard even though she always got hurt. Richie currently lives in San Diego with his girlfriend Andrea.

We understand that these past 2 years have been some crazy and unforeseen times. We want you to feel as safe as possible while attending our event. Along with abiding by Oregon's restrictions/rules for the wedding, we will have the wedding outdoors (with plenty of room to space out). Skyliner Lodge is an outdoor venue and has ability to space out. Please let Brittany or Clinton know if you have any requests prior to the event.&nbsp;We are excited to see you all there!
